The discussion wasn’t about who had created more jobs, so your question is irrelevant.

Capitol Man 1:50 Sun Jul 21

No offence but the author of that Forbes article makes your understanding look nothing other than the frustrated hate fuelled nonsense it is.

You’re too desperate to twist the narrative to Trump=bad to be able to have a rational discussion on anything about him.

There is absolutely no doubt that a drop in the corporate tax rate, Deregulation by the Trump admin, Repatriations, reworking NAFTA and other trade deals, tariffs on Steel and energy independence have brought about a boom in manufacturing jobs. The very jobs Obama said were never coming back. Oh and take a look at the food stamp numbers, tell me how low they are now Trumps in office.

It’s like politics for mugs with you lot isn’t it. It sounds feasible, but doesn’t really add up if you even a modest understanding of what has actually gone on.

It’s like Mary trying to revise history about trump and Charlottesville.

The US created 3 million jobs in 2014 alone, which shows claims that tax cuts are a miracle solution are naive at best and utter bullshit at worse.

So, rocket scientist - why have we seen no better job growth under Trump than Obama?

Hammer and Pickle 9:16 Sat Jul 20
Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
... because Trump’s fiscal loosening coincided with a time of quantitative easing and relatively high demand in the world economy.

Point is, Trump is a blagger and the people who believe in his economic miracle fools about to get slammed by a double whammy of rising interest rates and inflation.

Fucking MAGA

So his policies have created jobs then.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
Where have denied that there has been growth?

Trump's policies have been to cut corporate taxes and deregulate and this, together with low interest rates has given companies access to a great deal of immediate liquidity. So it has been companies willing to take the risk to employ and develop that have created those jobs. Not Trump.

And the problem is, it is Trump's direct policies that increasing the costs born by those same companies in the form of tariff payments levied as part of his trade war with China. The initial growth is now beginning to peter out, and still precious little has been created in the traditional manufacturing sectors Trump claimed his policies would make great again while falsely blaming the Democrats for their destruction.

It is one thing to spur growth with tax cuts and deregulation for two years, and quite another to build the basis for economic health for decades to come.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
here’s where President Trump’s pro-growth policies come into play.

The current stretch in increased manufacturing employment started in November, 2016—the month of Trump’s election. Employers, especially those faced with making long-term investments in physical plants and equipment, anticipated regulatory relief under Trump.

They got the relief they hoped for.

By October 2018, the Trump Administration cut 2.7 major regulations for every one added, greatly reducing regulatory cost and risk.

In addition, the tax cuts signed into law in December 2017 not only reduced corporate tax rates, encouraging investment, they also incentivized U.S.-based multinational corporations to bring home profits held overseas.

In the first nine months of 2018, these firms repatriated $571.3 billion—money needed for job-creating investment at home, but had been held in foreign countries because America had the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world.

Trump’s pro-growth policies appear to be all the magic the manufacturing sector needed

The manufacturing jobs created are not thanks to Trump's policies as I have demonstrated and expressed in a more detailed analysis in this article

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
I’m not a fan of trump the man but I am a fan of lower taxes. People whine about “Big bad corporations” benefitting from this, which is true to a large extent, but I work for one and this year I had my first decent pay rise in years, we are employing more people, and investing in improvements. I also enjoy more money in my pay packet

I am leery of the far left who claim that marginal tax rates need to be substantially higher? Why? What are they going to do with the money with they dock from my pay packet? Too many vague policies to “benefit the poor and middle class”. Do they mean they will provide guaranteed income to those who lose their jobs due to higher taxes? that after they cream off the top to pay for their own pet projects and deliver for those lobbyists who dontate? We actually have the lowest unemployment in decades, why would we jeapoardise that by electing ideologically extreme candidates to office?

As I said, Trump offends many people on many levels, but the sky hasn’t exactly fallen during his presidency, and we need to be careful what we wish for.
