GreenStplayer and comma, i make you both right.

although i still say the cheapskate charlatans are still slowly killing us. West Ham is still alive, but only just. it's kind of like we are on life support, and that life support is the fans and supporters who are desperately trying to keep the club alive by continous pressure on the charlatans and protests.
we just have to keep on with whatever pressure we can apply before the genuine support give up and turn their backs completely on our beloved hammers.

i fear for our club if the support finally give up in real numbers.
what on earth will be left other than the corpse of what was once the pride of east london and the best academy of football in the land.

The West Ham I knew in the fifties has gone so too for the sixties and the seventies. In truth the advent of the PL and blanket TV coverage has for me been the biggest change and along with the money sloshing around at the very top it has contributed to killing the game as I knew it.

Fans have changed as well.

Killed, not killing. The West Ham we knew has gone. Does anyone recognise it, relegation battle aside. That's the only thing they the board can give us we can relate to. Not much is it.

The only way it was going to work was if the move was an upgrade, but it is a downgrade to what we had. Coupled that the promise of investment hasn't materialised and worsening performances on the pitch, we have all been done up like a kipper mate!

Not sure what our future is but these 3 have to go pronto and just hope what is left can be manufactured into something we recognise and enjoy, surroundings, experience, something still West Ham.
The memories are ebbing away. It was so important the move was right, but in all areas it has failed.
They need to be held to account.

I've got such an awful feeling about the game on Saturday. I'm dreading it.

I used to be an optimistic supporter but now I'm as pessimistic about the team's chances as a staunch DRUID.

In fact, I probably am one now.

West Ham fans are super loyal, passionate, highly knowledgable, generous with their money and hardly spoilt by success - in short, these awful owners don't deserve us.

Same as my expectation. Sick of relegation struggles.

Re: A Premier League Club Is Getting Rich While Losing—and Fans Are Furious
in 61 yrs of being West Ham, all i ever wanted to be happy was to finish each season mid table (10th +) and a decent tickle in the cups every few years or so.
we're not, nor ever will be man city/manure/chelsea etc, but we should be much better than we are with the fanbase that we have.
but with all these useless, moneygrabbing owners we've had and have, then that's never , ever going to happen.

midtable and cup tickles is not too much to ask for in a club of our size, is it???.

I guess KFC is still considered by some as taking ones family for a slap up meal.

Cant understand why people still are willing to pay £50-60 to watch basic players who don't give shit and be treated like dirt by owners on football clubs.

get a life
take the family out for a meal instead.

Burnley make realistic buys ... Wood & Tarkowski from the Championship.... and build a team.
They are adding better players as they go along and despite their financial size look relatively comfortable in the PL.
Seem a club with a strategy unlike us
It’s embarrassing that we can’t get close to them at the moment
That’s down to a buffoon like Sullivan running the club

I fully expect us to win the league within the next 3 seasons.

We're next level and the owners told us it, so it has to be true.

Oh, they meant the Championship.

Would you have a wank thinking about a trophy cabinet?

I would be keen on another good season more than a cabinet of silver. But, hey, each to their own.

Same here, Cough son, of course.

The strange thing is that all the 'miracles' in English football have happened at average East Midlands regional clubs: Derby, Forest (most significantly) and Leicester.

None of these clubs have anywhere near the support that we have but they've all won the league which is probably something that we'll never achieve.

dicksie, I'd love to have Forest's trophy cabinet

'It's written for people who know nothing about English football'

You must have loved it, then?

Re: A Premier League Club Is Getting Rich While Losing—and Fans Are Furious
Nothing new in this article. It's written for people who know nothing about English football and in that respect it's a decent and concise summary.

The piece at the end about what happens if/when Southampton go 1-0 up is right on the money.

When that goal goes in we know we are relegated.

Re: A Premier League Club Is Getting Rich While Losing—and Fans Are Furious
Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday, I accept. They've had it worse than us. Historically big clubs with large fan-bases.

Coventry have always been a fucking bum team and it was a miracle that they stayed in the top-flight for as long as they did. They're a Football League club, no ifs and buts about it.

Forest are as fucking regional as anything. Once-upon-a-time, some brilliant manager took them to incredibly high levels but they're not a big club. They have nowhere near as many fans as us. That's what it comes down to, in all honesty.

For the size of support, passion and loyalty that us fans have; it doesn't get much better. We really have been fucked over by so many owners - and this current lot are the worst in our history.
