Do the campanologists have a yearly tear-up with the tintinnabulists?

I’d love to try a carillon. There’s an impressive one in Canberra. I could play Bubbles and wait until other fans climb up to see what’s going on.

I've been told that the finish of a ringing session is called the Bellend.

Big church across the road from me and at 9am every sunday the bell ringers get to work. Lovely to sit in the garden on a nice morning and listen to the racket. Someting about them that always seems very Englush to me. Un a 'village green' kind of way.

Don't do it. Folk say you will go deaf, half blind, incoherent with a hunchback if you study this.

Len, the Towersey Festival is a good laugh. It's like a four day village festival with some decent music thrown in and camping.

Instead of encroachments and possible ding dongs, they could settle it all with bell offs?
Bell ringing can tell you the time, but why haven't they developed it into other messages like the morse code?
Could relay all sorts of important announcements, such as football scores and all sorts.

Summat else I've always fancied having a go at;
MORRIS DANCING.
Not the regular ones, the ones that dress up in black clothes and black face paint and dance to banjos and go to festivals, do 10 minutes every hour or so, then sit under the shade leaning against trees and get all pissed up on cider.
That looks a right good caper, that.

Brass rubbing is not what it sounds like and I dropped a clanger due to misinterpretation.
