Panini World Cup stickers
|
Who has started or intends to start collecting these?
I completed the 2014 album, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, the cost has put me off this time around. 50p for 5 stickers was a reasonable price, but 80p for 5 is extortionate.

It's mental you're going to have to spend pretty much £800 to complete the set.
The last time I did this was in 1998 with the coins that Sainsburys gave out. Worth a whopping £12 now.

I bought a box of stickers as our baby was coming any day, was going to do 10 packs a day. Opened 100 packs in the first day. Reckon I got enough doubles to get just as far in a second album.

I remember my Italia 90 album and the days before ordering on line. I remember needing HAGI (Romania) and the Italy FOIL to complete. Took me around 4 weeks from filling in the form, doing a postal order and sending off to receipt for 2 fucking stickers!

I still haven’t fully made peace with getting Malcolm Shotton of Oxford three times in one packet back in the day.
I blame that event for a lot of the shit in my life.

that "analysis" which reckoned it cost like £700 to complete the album is hilarious! you can buy a whole box of 1000 stickers for £64. 2 of those and swapping would easily complete, plus you can buy 50 from panini

Re: Panini World Cup stickers

Started this last week for my sins as I thought it would take me back to my yoof. Little did I know what a con it really is. 80p for 5 stickers, really? Saying that I have probably spent about £35 already but will probably give up as it will cost far too much.
What I do find a con is that when I first started to get me going I bought 20 packets - out of 100 stickers I got 3 'foil' stickers. I repeated this with another 10 packets - 1 foil sticker ... big con
I am sure when I done Mexico 86 and Italia 90 and many others each pack HAD to have a foil sticker and there were about 10 stickers per pack.
I could just buy the set to finish it but not really worth it - will probably give up now but saying that still a bit of a thrill like a kid when you open a packet and see a sticker you really need.

So if there are 32 squads of 23 that’s 736 players £117.76 at 16p each
Do they do refs, linos, managers and ASSISTANTS as well?

Yes am doing this for the same reason as REALGSA. Didn't realise quite how expensive it would be!
Groupon are doing a box of stickers (100 packs) for £65 if anyone is interested.

I got a free copy and thought I would collect a few for my new born son to look at in years to come.
Haven't collected since 1998 world cup.
Not got the time to mess about with swaps, so just gone on ebay and you can buy a page of stickers. Will get all the silvers and team pics for the good sides.
You can buy the album and all stickers loose on ebay or amazon
