Essex County Cricket Club 2018 Thread
Firstly big thanks to Kips for starting last season's Division 1 Championship winning thread.

Obviously emulating last season's INVINCIBLE 10 wins and 4 draws in red ball is going to be impossible so in a league where 25% of counties go down I'll take a top 4 finish and a trip or two to a white ball final.

Defence of the title begins tomorrow away at Headingley. Thrased the White Rose twice last term, would be good to let them have a bat and skittle them.

#64 SIDDLE in the squad, here for first 5 games until #13 WAGNER returns, I think a decent signing, always respected the effort and grit this attack dog puts in.

COME ON YOU ESSEX BOYS.

Absolutely.

Poor leadership on and off the pitch especially in white ball.

McGRATH is clueless as a coach. New assistant was supposed to be white ball guru. Obvious to me that I know more about the squad and each player's capabilities than he does.

Team selections are abysmal. Unbalanced teams, batting order all wrong. Fuckers out of form seem to be immune from being dropped.

Overseas player #13 WAGNER just atrocious in white ball.

Tail starts at 7.

Captain making bollock awful bowling changes.

Vice captain can't bat and was totally clueless when captain was suspended.

I am not a cricketer but if I can see the many massive mistakes we are continuously making what the fuck are they thinking about out there on the pitch.

Yes Norman we are shit this season. However our one win so far in whackball was against Middlesex. 😉

Wait hang on, what was wrong with the pitch? You'd have thought not being able to defend 180, even on a small ground, would suggest the bowlers were the issue.

Especially compared to Lord's where the chasing side lost 4 wickets in 7 balls for one run and nearly made a hash of chasing 158. Dodgy pitch.

Give over Norman

Pitch had nothing to do with the result. You won the toss.

The result DID have everything to do with your captain giving BRAVO the last over. He went for 53 runs off the 23 balls he sent down. Pitch had fuck all to do with that shitshow.

Most exciting t20 finish for a while down at New Writtle Street tonight.

Apologies if this has upset any pink shirt wearing non gender specific Middlesex supporters.

Also apologies for the Essexcentric thread title. All counties are welcome on here just no international cricket bullshit boring Aussie cheating fuckers.

Sorry if that offended any CUNTS.

The prognosis looks good. Chemo afer recovery from the 'op', presumably to get any cancer cells that have gone roaming.

This is the cancer that killed Sir Bobby, but we are advanced, from a treatment perspective, by quite a few decades.

I think it pretty much is, especially the batting department.

As the World Cup squad is maximum of 15 players and Stokes and Woakes weren't in the recent squad v the Aussies, that 13 man squad, plus Stokes and Woakes will pretty much be the world cup squad. Barring injuries.

As the 14 man squad, for the Indian ODI series shows.

So ... England’s team is sorted 12 months out
In a further attempt to get England an ODI World Cup (5 home World Cups!) there are only 2 knockout games but you play 11 matches to win the thing.
Might need more than about 13 players.

Re: Essex County Cricket Club 2018 Thread
Billings and Vince both have the chance to put themselves forward in the England ODI reckoning.

As it seems even Hales may be dropped, to accommodate Stokes, there would have to be a major injury crisis, for those two, to get a look in the England ODI side.
