Psycho says we will be fighting relegation again next season

Speaking to Sky Sports, Pearce praised the quality of the clubs set to be promoted from the Championship and believes they have the capability to threaten the established Premier League teams next season- including West Ham.

“I would worry that the three teams that come up will have another impact like these three [the teams promoted last season] and put even more pressure on the established teams. I throw West Ham into that, and Watford.”

Last year, Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle earned promotion to the top-flight and look set to retain their spot, leading to issues for established Premier League trio West Brom, Stoke City and Southampton- the three clubs currently occupying a spot in the relegation zone.

Based on how we just folded, not all that likely to be doing a Sunderland.
Try do things as cheaply as West Ham have, you’re not likely to reap the best results.

I would not fancy our chances of not fighting relegation if we get relegated to the Championship never mind the Prem.

The non Investment in the January window has screwed us, thanks to our wonderful Chairmen who sold several key players and did not replace them.

Unless there's a big change of approach from our current owners then I think we will always pretty much kick around where we are now.
It's a real problem tho because eventually you will go down with this approach

So what is wrong with aiming to be top of that group outside the top six. If we aimed for that we wouldn’t be fighting relegation. It’s hardly aiming for the moon and the least we could expect after all the promises of next level.

And we will struggle IMO, dont matter who the manager is, we wont turn it around that quick, decent proportion of the squad needs an overhaul, that will take several windows.

He is clearly suggesting next season is going to be another battle, that is the only reason it's a story in the first place. He may not use the R word, but as said he foresees another struggle, which is the point here.

No he doesn’t, he’s pretty much saying that, outside the top six, the gap won’t be that great between the rest because of the quality of the likely teams to be promoted. Big difference between that and ‘fighting relegation’.

The coach at Chelsea or Spurs wouldn’t be saying this because they are light years ahead of us and he’d be fucking mental if he said it. That’s a truly ridiculous comparison.

Pearce is spot on. The starting 11 contains players who are going to be over the hill age wise next season such as Zab and Collins. We have an unbalanced squad and too many players who simply cannot be relied upon fitness wise such as Carroll and Reid. I also think it very likely Lanzini will be off as well. The starting 11 needs a significant amount spent on THE RIGHT PLAYERS and that is not going to happen. There is a reason that Sullivan has one of the worst records for getting teams relegated. If Sullivan pulls his usual BS then we will be fighting relegation again.
