Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
I'm not worried about getting another CB, we have Ogbonna, Balbuena and Rice to partner Diop and Reid should be back before the end of the year, although I think Rice will likely be utilised as a DM mainly.

Roundup from ex,

Antonio may not move until January. Palace haven’t bid high enough.

Still not sure if we will keep Hernandez or not.

Looks like they will keep snodgrass in the squad this season to the delight of Steven P.

Looking only at loans and freebies now as the budget has been spent. Especially looking at midfielder loans from Chelsea.

Obiang looks likely to be kept.

So it looks unlikely that we will get a DM or Partnering CB for Diop.

Browne was being linked with a couple of League One clubs for a loan deal last week.

West Ham, Newcastle interested in Mexican Diego Reyes

West Ham and Newcastle are interested in Mexico international defender Diego Reyes (25).

Reyes, who has 53 caps for Mexico, is a free agent after his contract at Porto expired in the summer.

Fenerbahce have made an offer for the 25-year-old centre-half.

Reyes joined Porto from Mexican side America for €7m in 2013 and made 49 appearances for the Portuguese side.

He has had two spells on loan in La Liga, with Real Sociedad in 2015/16 and Espanyol in 2016/17.

West Ham have already signed two centre-backs this summer, with Issa Diop joining from Toulouse for £21.9m and Fabian Balbuena joining from Corinthians for £6.5m.

We are very interested in Reyes the centre back from Porto on a free transfer,I think he is Mexican but don't quote me on that.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
How many days will it be before we've forgotten the eight signings above and can start moaning about the lack of activity on the transfer front?

Obviously ANY sales will be A DISGRACE.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Well it looks like Hugill, Byram, Oxford & Fernandes will be on the way out, given any decent offers for them. Cullen to stay & maybe Browne & Holland getting a chance at some stage this season?

I would honestly take Balotelli, Yaya and Cahill.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Bakayoko wasn't great for Chelsea last season, but considering they've managed to make Salah and De Bruyne look shit in recent years, I'd be happy to take him on one of Sully's favoured try before you buy deals.

He was excellent at Monaco the season previous. Massive upgrade on Kouyate if he can play to that level again.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
TBF 13 nobody knows who is up for sale and who is not, it's not like we have players on the transfer list mate. Both have been mentioned by various WHU sources and supposed ITKs as players the club would listen to offers for though. I would imagine that there are higher priority positions to sort out for the manager. Let's hope whoever is in his squad in three weeks time can improve, as most have been fairly average over the past two seasons.

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Barely any of our players have shone over the last two 2 seasons.
Cresswell & Masuaku are attacking full back / wing backs types that Peli likes and seeing as either are not up for sale and we've not been seriously linked with any other left backs,bI pressume both are staying and that they will improve and re-find their form under a better manager.

"even if Jack played only half the season he would contribute more than Drinkwater "

Disagree

Bakayoko was brilliant at Monaco, if there's a chance we should take him

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
What does "decent" represent when speaking about 1 quarter of a shocking West Ham defence Last season ?

Conceded more goals than most

We need to take those rose tinted specs off and says it as it really is....the manager has replaced 3 quarters of said shocking defence......why wouldn't he replace our decent LBs ?

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
I did read it, and even if Jack played only half the season he would contribute more than Drinkwater as he's more than twice the player.

I get that you're not pleased with this signing.

Drinkwater better than Wilshere...FMOB

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window gossip
Agree with Fraser, Cresswell not good enough defensively and will make too many errors IMO.

We need a better left back ideally. Bakayoko in midfield would be better than we have although he was guilty of losing possession a lot last season. The choice of Noble, Obiang and Kouyate for providing defensive cover again is a concern. Kouyate plays like a converted centre back in terms of technique and is the one player I definitely do not want to see in midfield again. He needs to be sold IMO.

Main Chelsea story in all the papers yesterday: Sarri to offload 40m flop Bakayoko .
