Former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini edges closer to West Ham job after leaving Hebei China Fortune

Hebei made the announcement on social media after Pellegrini guided the team to a 2-1 win over Chongqing Lifan

By Jake Polden

Manuel Pellegrini has left Chinese Super League outfit Hebei China Fortune, the club confirmed on Saturday, paving the way for the former Manchester City boss to take over at West Ham.

Hebei made the announcement on social media after Pellegrini guided the team to a 2-1 win over Chongqing Lifan in the club's final league match before a two-month break for the World Cup.

The statement read: "After amicable discussions with Mr Pellegrini, we have reached a mutual agreement.

"As of May 20, Mr Pellegrini will no longer work as the head coach of Hebei China Fortune Football Club.

"We sincerely thank Mr Pellegrini for his contribution to the club and we wish him all the best for the future."

There is too much money at stake with that. A decent run and we become highly attractive to external investors.

i love that he keeps bringing up the first 4 games.

most other managers would've written it off as soon as results picked up, claimed a turned corner and forgotten about it. pellegrini will barely go an interview without mentioning it. in his mind we're not on some historic streak, we're just undoing the damage done early doors.

that's the mind of a winner.

Best thing I've read this week. Despite being a follower well supporter of El Pel from his Spanish days and following South American football. I never knew he was 65. He's still got hunger for one final throw to leave a legacy. I so hope he's here longer than the current board and cunty Brady and the ever so embarrassing Sullivan's. The BBC is pure cringe comedy. But on a serious note it's like they are using West Ham as a play thing for Jack. What happens in 5 years when the cunt sais Daddy I want to be general manager of the first team. God help us.
My heart and head thinks El Pel is an asset and will attract " next level " owners and the dildo brothers know this hence not interfering or underminding MP. He's literally too wise and too respected to be pissed around.
Coyis.

Been a while since we’ve sung a manager’s name (Pardew?) but was excellent to hear it today. Fantastic manager and an excellent bit of noise for him!

It's taken a while but we're looking like the team that we all hoped for when Pelligrini took over in the summer.

Hopefully, there's plenty more to come.

Was Pardew the last to have is name sung like that?

Bilic had his super slav song, but I can't remember hearing SB's C&B army.

You know we don't offer that song out lightly to managers, so it's a sign of the times and a mark of respect to the man that Pellers has won that song from the faithful.

Re: Pellegrini _ The South American John Lyall
He will not be poached. I do not fear this. He has a huge project at West Ham and I do not think he will have the desire of another challenge let alone Clubs offering the perks and salary he has at West Ham or the massive potential to move a club forward and challenging for cups as he did in Spain. I think our prestigious history of our golden years is what brought him here along with the facilities and big stage arena he is accustomed too . If anything I think he goes to bed each night praying for a mega takeover from a board with more money and more integrity and class.

I think he has the dildo porn boys eating out of his hand as he is a million times more respected in the football world than Gold, Sullivan and Brady could ever obtain.

It is noticeable how things have changed with the board , no longer amateur tweeting escapades, or look at me weekly paper interviews etc. Like us he is most probably thinking the BBC fly on the wall of Junior Cunt Jack Sullivan is cringe-worthy comedy and not fussed for this.

They will be treading on egg shells with him to keep him.
He will not walk away from a challenge and too old and wise to be bothered by them in anyway.

Piss EL PELL off , and the whole footballing world will know , not due to him being a grass but due to his respect by many and for him always speaking the truth. No manager will want to go there , if El Pell opened the beans on how fucking amateur and money thirsty these cunts are. Lose him and West ham are back to the merry go round of failed managers. They can not risk this.

Northern Sold , agreed , Andy Return from the Dead Carroll has to go , maybe he is trying to get him match fit so it gains more appeal for other clubs to buy him. Masuaku not to play left back.

Finally poco poco give more starting games for Grady as when he appears he gives 100 percent , unsettles the opposition , chases balls down , is hungry to cement a place in the team and can score.

Also buy one striker to replace the crocker Carroll and Arnie who is clearly going to majestically recover in time for the transfer window , replace them both with someone I rate , who maybe questionable to some but Emiliano Raúl Sala of Nantes. 15 to 25 million will not break the bank.

My only slight criticism is EL Pell has not secured Rices future or pressured the board enough. But who knows behind the scenes , Rices stock is increasing every game and maybe they see an extortionate bid of 50 to 70 Million coming in for him. From a cako Champions league team. If he considers Wiltshere a 100 million pound player god knows what he values Rice who consistently performs great for a 19 year old.

As said 100 million was to create a foundation and it will take another 100 million to progress not to next level but another step up the ladder to get into the top 6 area.

Fucking hurts and IF is a big word. But even if we had only got 6 points from the first 4 games we would have been above United and in 6th Spot. But it is pointless thinking this.

I enjoy watching the football under his management , win , lose or draw. The team is improving and now even having to rotate a squad we are finally gelling as team.

When the club is sold to proper Billionaires, and if Moyes , or Curbs , or the Walrus was managing , no doubt potential owners would walk away and go fucksake look at those miserable cunts with little success in all their years, suppose we need to find a manager as well as all the other shit that needs changing. But with El Pell , they could not be anything but impressed with his CV , integrity , knowledge and vision of how football should be played. The most important thing to worry about the management and they do not have to worry about this. They can just crack on and invest in getting seats closer to the pitch and have complete faith in El Pel with their money , well the supporters money. as well as cracking on with upgrading Training facilities worthy of a BIG club.

COYIs.

I'm not so worried about the latter two reasons, I think he picked West Ham because it was specific challenge or project that appealed to him. So I'm not concerned about him being poached. As for retiring I reckon he will at the very least see out the 3 year deal he signed up to.

The first point though about the board pissing him off or fucking things up somehow wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Agreed about Antonio, except for the last match, where he did a decent job at right back, and even looked up and passed a lot, which I thought he was incapable of. If Pellers gets him putting in the same effort each match, and he continues to be more aware of passing to people better positioned, it will be well worth keeping him.

Re: Pellegrini _ The South American John Lyall
My biggest worry is that he'll be gone before the job is done.

Whether through falling out with the board, being poached by someone else, or by simply retiring.

"and they look like they want to play."

Except for Antonio who has been below par for the last 2 years and often looks like he can't be bothered.

Completely agree.

It was not as simple as adding players to plug the gaps, that was only part of the job.

There were also deep-rooted mental or psychological problems which was affecting the team which probably stemmed from the move from Upton Park along with a few attitudes with players like Payet, Sakho and Antonio over the last few years.

No matter how many times Moyes and Bilic told us that the team were together and united it did not look that way at all on the pitch.

To me it looks like Pellers is improving the team in all the areas that we have previously been failing (except maybe the injuries!). The team look united, they look like they are playing with more confidence and freedom, they look like they are trying to play some real football and they look like they want to play.

I also think Pellegrini gave the players a chance this season to prove themselves. Some of them have proved they deserve to wear the shirt and others will hopefully have proved they are not good enough or adaptable enough to play the way that Pellegrini wants and maybe this has held us back a bit - for instance, I think a solid left back would have made us a better team as Cresswell and Masuaku have both been less than impressive this season.

Also I'd add spending money alone guarantees nothing. Manchester United have spent 400m to be a glorified Stoke for instance.

I'm not so fussed on the amount we spend each summer so I don't really care if we spend 100m or 10m, just so long as the board backs Pel in getting the players he wants.

Enjoyed the football he has served up in the main. Tried to be positive in all the games ive seen and as much as anything brought a bit of dignity back to West Ham with his demeanour. No mean feat with our board of porn barons.
