Karren Brady claims West Ham Boxing Day fixtures at London Stadium can happen in future.
Is there no end to the bullshit that comes out of this woman's mouth?...

Karren Brady claims West Ham Boxing Day fixtures at London Stadium can happen in future.

The Hammers CEO was asked about pre-season fixtures at the Hammers home ground and made the new claim.

Karren Brady has said West Ham supposedly being banned from playing Boxing Day games at the London Stadium is a "myth".

This season, the Hammers are playing away for the third season in a row on December 26, coincidentally ever since they moved in to the former Olympic Stadium, this year travelling to Southampton.

Last year, West Ham were on the road at Bournemouth on Boxing Day and the year before, away at Swansea City for the traditional festive fixture.

There have been constant murmurs ever since the club took up residence in E20 that Westfield Shopping Centre didn't want any football disrupting what is arguably their biggest trading day of the year and they had come to an agreement with the club.

However, speaking at a West Ham Supporters Advisory Board meeting on July 12, Brady said that was a "myth", implying that the club could play fixtures in the capital on Boxing Day in the future.

The minutes from the meeting held at the London Stadium state: "KB (Karren Brady) stated that the idea West Ham cannot play home games on Boxing Day as a myth."

The Hammers CEO also said that the club will play pre-season fixtures at home in the future. Since moving into the arena, the Hammers have had one pre-season friendly at the ground and that was to officially open it with the Betway Cup game against Juventus.

As reported in the minutes: "...the club played a pre-season friendly against Juventus in the Betway Cup in 2016 but last year they couldn't because of the IAAF (Athletics) which had been in the diary since before West Ham were tenants and there are plans for future games at home during pre-season."

The Hammers have had four pre-season games so far this summer and they have all been on the road, as was the case ahead of the 2017/18 Premier League season.

Used to love the Boxing Day games at home back in the 70s when the kicked off at 11am, yes, 11am

I hope she is right, we are witnessing change at West Ham this summer and we are clearly having problems with LS 185 Ltd.. If the owners can reach a detente with LS 185 then Westfield's issues will become less relevant.

Gold, Makenosense and Myth.

Good thing there were only 3 kings and not seven. Nothing good ever comes from Seven Kings.

If fixtures were determined entirely by the laws of probability I could accept the possibility of us never, ever playing a home fixture on Boxing Day. But they're not, so I don't.

The last time we discussed this someone listed the last ten or so Boxing Day fixtures before we left UP - I can't remember the numbers but it was something pitiful like two homes.

However much you hate Brady, if it's a myth, she would know.

Boxing Day is Westfield's 5th busiest shopping day. The busiest is the Saturday before Christmas when we've always played at home since we moved - and again this year.
