Officicial Attendance Figures
Recent BBC enquiry reveals discrepancies in club attendances.
West Ham have been named as one of the worse
BBC state (request under freedom of information)

West Ham: Newham council says the average attendance at West Ham was 42,779 based on the 12 games it attended - which is 12,530 fans fewer than the club's season average figure of 55,309.

Probably not that accurate based on this sample amount but probably indicates that the club are massaging the attendance figures.

Re: Officicial Attendance Figures
They're not massaging figures, facts are this:

All clubs advertised tickets sold as attendances

We have 12.5k people on average who have bought a ticket but don't show up - this will include tickets sold en masse to travel companies etc who don't sell on.

Basically, we can't fill our own ground. Which a few of us have always known.
