We will see how we do without as much space as United gave us last week. We have tended to struggle with that in the past.

Team has to be the same starting 11 as against Mancs Question is do we start like the home team or hit them on the break!

Make them chase, Ive been really impressed with our ability to hang onto the ball the last few games! 3-1 irons

I dont get all this Anderson does not defend. According the the stats he is in top 10 in the league for most tackles and that includes actual defenders!

Re: WHU team Vs Brighton
true fraser, but it's a little bit differenrt away from home - and even v chelsea there were times we were caught out on the wings.
brighton pose a completely different threat, stopping crosses is very important - they aren't going to play through us.

i dont for one second expect MP to change the starting eleven, but i would be tempted.

Chelsea came at us and we were fine with them

Re: WHU team Vs Brighton
i'm gonna get grief for this.......... but i'd be tempted to start either snodders or antonio instead of anderson or yarmolenko.

away from home i dont think either does enough defensively - you can have one but not both. brighton will come at us and we need to defend properly.

controversial i know.

*isn’t about quality man for man

Re: WHU team Vs Brighton
As Alf says, match their work rate and hope we get a high standard of officiating then baring any stupid mistakes we should be okay.

The test against Brighton is about quality man for man. The test is being able to get as up for this game mentally as we were for Everton, Chelsea and United.

hit them on the break. let them come on for the first 20 and then get 1 maybe 2 and stitch it up at the back. 0-2 Hammers

Hope they have watched the two games last season so they will be up for winning this one for the fans.

Claret & Hugh reckons Arnie and Yarmolenko are both fit to play tomorrow.

Sir Alf 1:52 Thu Oct 4
Re: WHU team Vs Brighton
Same team if as expected Yarmo and Arnie are fit.

Brighton will be a real test. They are a very hard working team and press all over the pitch which last season and early this season ( our 2 midgets in midfield admittedly ) caused us all sorts of problems.

They have played 4 of their games against the top 6 too so while they may be languishing on 5 points that is a tad misleading IMO.

There will be the usual "rub of the green" moments that have to go your way ( penalty decisions, offsides, sending offs, taking chances) but as always against teams out of the top 6 we have to match their work rate and commitment. Hopefully keeping better possession will lessen the effort we have had too put in over the last few seasons against most teams. That seems to be what Pellegrini is trying to achieve amongst other things.

Just hope the ref does not ruin the game which is so far something that has not been so evident in our first 7 games this season. But its early days !

Need the Rice, Obiang and Noble partnership to continue to work. That has been key to the turnaround.

Fabianski

Zabaletta - Balbuena - Reid - Ogbonna - Masuaku

Arnautovic - Anderson - Lanzini

Hernandez

Re: WHU team Vs Brighton
If it’s only Yarmo that’s missing the game I’d play Antonio in his place rather than Snodgrass. With the central 3 we play now I see Antonio as a bit more attacking
