Croatia vs. England watch your language
This match in an empty stadium will reveal which players are the most vocal. My guess is Jordan Henderson, although whether he can open his mouth without an expletive popping out is doubtful. The rest of the squad seem to be the quiet types.

Think we've said about this before on ere.
It was one of our mates that got killed and zilch happened with the driver as far as I can remember. Organised a march fm Mile End to downing st. All got stopped near waterloo and his brothers took the petition on to downing st.

Henderson provided the pithiest comment of the first half with his rebuke of the Croatian coach, Zlatko Dalic, for appealing for a free kick. “Who do you think you are? The f**king ref?”

My brother in law went to the cup winners cup final at the heysel stadium against Anderlcht 1976 we lost 4 - 2 I think it was on the box but could be wrong, although I seem to remember us sporting the jersey with the diagonal stripes for the first time.Anyway he said it was chaos in the ground . Loads made the journey only to see us get beat.
Maybe one day we'll win something

Agree with Ron on this one.ive only been to one England away game, but there's a loyal following that shouldn't be punished on the strength of A handful of Croats misbehaving .

Re: Croatia vs. England watch your language

Thanks good read that, particularly liked the bits about the commentary being heard as play commenced, the floodlights blocking out the view of the stands that made one forget they weren't full, then realised it so when just a handful of West Ham supporting Policemen clapped the goals from the stands, also only having one ball which took several minutes to get back when it ended high up in the chicken run.

I recall several mates going to the first game in Madrid saying that the coach driver deliberately reversed into the West Ham fan against a wall. Was he ever brought to justice, I doubt it, this is Spain, one law for them....

This is a fucking nonsense.

If they really feel the need to punish the whole of Croatian football, then they should simply have made them play the fixture in England.

I remember listening to the game on the radio. You could hear the sound of the ball being kicked clear is a bell.
Castilla scored with a fantastic shot from 30 yards which sounded like a bullet. Phil Parkes didn't let many in from that distance

Good article on the Beeb about the Real Madrid Castilla match in 1980. Bit before my time so interesting to read what the likes of Brooking and Parkes had to say about it.

Croatia away in a empty stadium in a tournament the vast majority of football don't care about, Can't wait.

And if we get relegated we get to watch more shit teams that no one wants to watch instead of proper football

It'll be amusing to hear the players talking to each other. It'll also be a weird atmosphere as well. About 50 people or so cheering for a goal.

Its bad enough we have to endure these international breaks, but to play one behind closed doors and no fans can attend is fucked up.

It's behind closed doors. Second game for Croatia like that after a swaztika was marked into their pitch before game against Italy.

Nothing related to the US President so possibly not discussed on here.
