Question for the runners out there - Garmin
Looking at getting a Garmin Forerunner but not sure what is adequate.

Have a Garmin Edge 800 for my bike.

Price isn't an issue, but I'm not going to be doing a triathlon anytime soon.

Just want to get my fat arse back in to gear, work up to a half marathon for May 19

Thanks in advance

Casio stopwatch with a 10 year battery that's been going for about 15 years.

Those fuckers with the talking watches that set off a pace alarm every 100 metres? Fuck off.

My £20 Casio is normally in front of them at the finish.

I ended up buying a gym quality treadmill that gives me all the stats I need, only run in the park when the whether is fine now to get some vitamin D so never bothered getting one of these, but I considered it at one point and read that Apple Watch series 4 has gps and cellular, store music 500 tracks, download running and other apps etc.

Fenix does it all. An Edge 800 is good but outdated, the Fenix 5 will do everything you need until such time as you need a new Edge in a few years.

Is that going too overboard though?

If price isn't an issue just get a Fenix 5.

Job done.
