>>> If we can afford to pay the alleged £80k a week for him why the hell are we farting around over a deal for Rice!!

Well it might be that we can't afford it (or FFP cannot allow it). In which case it would need to be offset by player departures in January.

He's going to train with us to secure a deal. That's not a bad thing.

My guess is accelerated recovery. By infusing 10 times the legal dose you overload beyond the natural levels.

The key is micrornutrients.

Rather than what may or may not have been in the drip (see what I did there?), has there been any subsequent litigation, threat of or otherwise relating to the administration?

Surely modern footballers are not tethering themselves intraveinously?

Re: Sami Nasri...
Why does an athlete need to be rehydrated other than by mouth?

I can see that seriously ill people might need a drip to rehydrate, or even someone fit after really overdoing it in QATAR, but this looks like a fad treatment.

Shim,

Apparently it was exaclty that but it had a too higher dosage of stimulants in it which was the problem.

Re: Sami Nasri...
What's the drug ban about ? I had a look & it was for receiving nutrient enriched water intravenously whilst on holiday.. presumably this is a bog standard rehydration drip is t it ?
Any medical (or sports science type) people on here that can shed some light to me as to what the issue is ? And why the ban was increased from 6 months to 18 when he appealed ?
I'm a bit ignorant on the technicalities of this sort of thing..

Steven P, I have every reason to believe it going on the clubs past form and Sullivan being chairmen

True, in which case that would be on Sullivan.

Got a touch of the classic west ham signing about it this.

Plays amazing for 6 months earns himself a 3 year deal.

Turns to shit/gets injured for the next 3 years.

"If it turns out he's shit, then it's on the manager."

Something that Sullivan will no doubt be very quick to point out should that be the case.

Re: Sami Nasri...
I don't blame the owners on this one. If the manager wants him, and the contract is as short as it is, then they're right to back him. If it turns out he's shit, then it's on the manager.
