5 million gift for PL Chief Exec Scudamore
|
All 20 Premier League clubs were asked by Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck for a Ł250,000 contribution. 15 have agreed, 5 have not. The guy apparently earns 2.5m a year already and this would be a leaving present.
My view: Fuck off your rich enough already.

That bird Susanna Dinnage
The Premier League says its prospective new chief executive, Susanna Dinnage, has told the organisation she will not be taking up the position.
BBC
Wonder if someone told her the ironing is piling up?

Well some clubs are not willing to “gift” Scudamore anything. For my part I would say to Scudamore “which charity or worthy cause would you like me to donate to on your behalf”?
It’s almost as if the greed is good culture never went away.

If someone did a deal that earns my £100m a year I’d happily give them £250k as a gift.
I noticed that some big name retired footballers are up in arms over this. I have to assume they passed up their massive wages and bonuses and passed them on to grass roots football.

They should make him give it to the Brexit camp. Give the snowflakes something else to whine about.

Can't see why so many are up in arms about this? Let him have his gift, you can't say Scudamore hasn't earn't it. Some people earn more than others.

you're right Ham BUT it isn't to the 100,000's of people that play and volunteer to run games week in week out. It means something else to them. Especially to the very brave people who ref junior and lower level games why they want to do it I don't know

ÂŁ250k per club is one or 2 players weekly wage as a one off payment. Not much in the scheme of football money.

When you actually think about it, 5 million is fuck all in the crazy world of football - its a token gesture.
Yet it is obscene amount of money to give to most individuals.

Football wasn't created to be turned it to the cunt it has become.
That applies to what goes about on & off the pitch.
It sets the standard of how not to be in life.

Cheers Westside - just my suspicious mind, then.
I think suspicion, is the correct posture to take, when dealing with these money grabbing bastards.
No need at all for this payment.

So the bloke is meant to say no to ÂŁ5m because a load of people that he has never met, or ever will come to that, are pissed off about someone getting money that isn't theirs anyway.
Oh, and by the way all this shit about grass roots football is the the FA's domain NOT the Premier League but that's by the by.

another interesting story is currently happening at the PFA where new chairman Ben Purkiss is asking for an independent review of the organisation after discovering they've built up a ÂŁ50m warchest. it seems ÂŁ2m a year Gordon Taylor is very upset about the potential investigation :.)

Well I suppose you are right. I sort of meant that in business big company chairman get big pay offs from money paid by investors when they retire.
I thought he was retiring. But as he is not I stand corrected and it makes it a bit less easy to stomach.
Years ago I would've got angry about this but football went to the dogs years ago and nothing surprises me anymore.

I'm not sure it's quite the same, Russ. I agree that if a chairman or senior exec gets the push then the company will throw money at them to keep them quiet. But Scudamore left voluntarily. I'm not sure many companies shower non-contractually obliged money on people who just leave of their own accord.
