So Balbuena now apparently needs an operation. How come it's taken this long for that to be discovered?

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
There is only one common denominator and that is the club. Granted a few of our signings were crocks but we mostly sign players with no previous history of being injury prone who then become injury prone. It has be the training facilities.

hardly an exhaustive list if you are blaming our training?

Carroll?
Arnie?

Some teams seem to get by with little or no injuries season after season

Pretty sure Reid wasn't when we bought him. Whether he was when we gave him a long contract? Hindsight and all.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
Reid wasn't known as injury prone when we bought him, but he did get a contract extention after several lay off due to injury.

Carrol and Wilshere were the ones who already had an injury prone rep. when we bought them; Carrol, of course, was injured when we signed him. D'OH!

Yarmolenko had a few issues in the last year ot two before we bought him. Beware, because so did Anderson.

The rest, we've been unlucky. Lanzini is the biggest miss. I really hope he comes back teh same player, but I fear for him. I was watching all goals from 2018 with the kids last night, andwatching him tuck away his goals, I could only dream of him, fully fit, playing in Pellegrini's West Ham. It's torture.

Get well soon, Manu.

Only Wiltshire and Reid are injury prone the others were unlucky

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
I've got a theory which could be rubbish, but:

We sign players that are injury prone as bargains because other teams know they are prone and want to get rid.

Can’t really be training methods can it now we have a decent manager and set up for once.
Training facilities definitelynplay a part.
Signing old, past it and injury prone players probably doesn’t help.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
Lanzini did post a video of him doing one-on-ones with his brother just before Christmas.

with the caption translated as "each time less and less"

he then turns into a turn of the century newsboy over New Years.

Have to agree, been a problem forever.
Why do they not do something, do they not realise it is costing a fortune in, paying people to sit around and recover, paying people to cover for injured players, less points so less money, shorter cup runs less games so less money.
Thinking about it in one year they could probably get the money back thats needed for new facilities...

Have DINOSAUR TRAINING METHODS been mentioned yet?

Like rd said, it’s been like this for ever. Do we train on concrete or what?

I think Lanzini was saying that on social media at some point. as well. Seemed more of a hope than an expectation.

I was reading that Wilshires ankle problem is the other ankle not the usual injured ankle

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
It's been the same for Ten years running now. Comes s point when you have to admit it's not normsl or just bad luck.
There is something wrong with the conditioning of our players who get injured in training and warm ups fsrvtoo easily.
I suspect it's our championship training facilities which are not fit for purpose.
Gollivan strike again.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
I was thinking, massive injury list + players not fit enough to handle the games over the festive period (in Pellegrini’s own words) makes it look like something is very wrong in the fitness and training department?

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
My mate trains in the same gym as Manu. Back in the Autumn he was saying that he expects to be back by the end of January. I don't know if that's changed since though.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
Rossal, no offence to Reid, but I'd rather he be out for the season and get Lanzini back soon(ish), than the other way round, but I just can't see Manu being ready any time soon, at least not being as fully healed as he can be.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
So Reid is back in a few weeks. You could be forgiven for having forgotten about him. Can't see him getting anywhere near the side unless two of Diop, Balbuena and Ogbonna are out.

Re: Our injury list - Any chance of it coming down soon?
Lily id say replace Lanzini with Reid
