Spot on. I thought the same, that THIS is the way to play inferior opposition properly, as if they were your main rivals at the top of the PL table. You could tell the players had been told not to slack off just because it was little old Burton Albion, as that is probably the mistake a lot of other clubs made which played a big part in them reaching the semi final in the first place.

City deserve praise for the high work rate they maintained well after the result was beyond doubt. Fans do not come to games like this to see highly paid players amble around.

Burtons tiny capacity guarantees them a lower semi final attendance than our poor 15K (v Oldham) and 14K (v Man City)
.

Re: Another record we will hopefully lose
Away goals don't count as double in this competition so as long as Burton win their home leg by ten clear goals they are through to the final.

In the future, you will be able to hear the phrase "gone for a Burton"...

"it's a game of two halves" insists Burton ladyfan stick on M6.
Not sure if her cup is half full or half empty there, though.

12-1 is our aggregate record (13-2 Liverpool's). Watford and Everton also won 11-0. Going?

Stephen Bywater is on the bench for Burton, bet he is happy about that!

Wondered what had happened to him, seems to have slid down the leagues and packing order since that debut against Bradford.

Re: Another record we will hopefully lose
I bet after this match City don't go on to sign one of Burton's centre backs.

I'm sure Burton can turn this around in the second leg.

Is there any point whatsoever playing the second leg?
