Re: England Tour of West Indies
Impossible getting top scorer markets for games with the lesser teams in, which is a shame as Coetzer is my go to jock*

Going by career stats, the fella who top scored for Oman was also a banker.

*bloke is as Scottish as me!

Think the mighty Callum McLeod smashed us all over the place.

Great game from what I remember.

Setting up a launch event for the World Cup in Trafalgar Square this morning.
Saw Graeme Swann on his way there. Probably going to regale the crowd with stories of his World Cup triumphs

Re: England Tour of West Indies
Big ODI between Oman and Scotland this morning and a real nail biter after the jocks bowled Oman out for 26 in 17 overs!!!

One fella looked a legend with his 15 runs.

Guessing it's a record with a team only needing 20 balls to win.

Re: England Tour of West Indies
On to ODI mode now as we move towards the World Cup at the end of May

I see Paul Farbrace will be leaving England at the end of the Windies tour and wont be involved,
His contract was to the end of the summer and he was likely to leave with Bayliss.
Has got a new job at sports director at Warwickshire who were prepared to wait til after the World Cup for him to join.
It seems Ashley Giles wanted him gone now though.
Hmmmmm

I'll be back in the UK to work next week and there for the foreseeable future so I'll get more cricket in

Re: England Tour of West Indies
It is also the biggest first class last wicket partnership to win a match
The Australians put on 77 to beat Madras in 1935/36.
After being bowled out for 47 in their first innings

Westside, you are correct

Most amazing thing is that is only the 13th time a test has been won by one wicket. Considering over 2000 tests have been played I would have thought it would that number would be higher.

Re: England Tour of West Indies
I looked it up
It thankfully took the record away from Inzaman ul Haq who put on 50 something for the last wicket to beat Australia years back.

Re: England Tour of West Indies
Presume that's the biggest last wicket partnership to win a Test match ever.

Not only test matches, but any first class match, per the BBC (to win a match).

Re: England Tour of West Indies
I think the death of Test cricket is greatly overplayed.
It’s still the only format of the game that countries REALLY care about winning and it’s still capable of games like that one.
Nothing better than a Test that ebbs and flows and goes down to the back end of the 4th innings.
And for whatever reason the vast majority of Tests see a result these days and only extended rain or the occasional subcontinent road sees a draw
