No surprise really. Top of the injury League 7.7 players per game. The information about Reid is wrong he is out for the season

Clubs fighting for titles have less time injuries. Players come back quicker and keep fitter.
Clubs fighting for titles also don’t buy expensive players with long injury histories.
We have to get all of these bids back for for next season. Pump in another £100m and get a premier league winning manager to go and fight for titles
The days of West Ham being a retirement home or doss house for clearly talented players that lack professionalism or motivation are over.

There's a big vein of radioactive magnetite that runs under Rush Green, Chadwell Heath & Stratford.
The radiation weakens the players physically then the magnetism makes their feet stick to the ground and they hurt themselves trying to turn.
HTH.

absolutely spot on there. Signed carroll when he couldn't pass a physical but our doctors missed it so we're told. Reid, I believe, signed his big extension while injured, but even if not, already had a litany of injuries under his belt. jack fucking wheelchair speaks for himself. the only surprise with him was that he made it through pre-season.

I'm not too surprised to read this. We have an ageing team who are just more injury prone than a younger, fitter team would be.

It's a curse. Clear as day. And I'm not even superstitious.
CURSED!
There are soft tissue injuries, and then there are impact inuries. Everyone knows that. But only at West Ham do you have treading on a dropped coffee mug injuries.
CURSED, I tell thee.

Reid, Carroll, Sanchez need moving on quick.
The injuries get more and more common as they get older. Luckily Carroll can be released in the summer. Reid is unlikely going to want to move after signing such a long term deal on big money.

Well- still very unlucky to have Lanzini, Yarmolenko, Balbuena, Reid and Sanchez all out with mid/long term ligament damage.

Extending Carroll and Reid's contracts and signing Wiltshire were entirely avoidable mistakes. Take them out of the stats and we would be just a bit unlucky

Agree with Russ- we haven't had that many soft tissue injuries which would suggest players aren't fit or warmed up enough.
It's all been serious trauma/impact type injuries, or freak accident injuries- an abnormally high amount. You just can't do anything about those
I suppose we shouldn't have been too surprised Nasri had an injury having not played competitively for so long. Just hope he's back soon and it doesn't reoccur.

Re: Injuries

It could of course be down to the professionalism of certain players at the Club. Not blaming Pellegrini for that of course as it's been happening for years but say a player tweaks an injury in a nightclub rather than having his feet up and doing the right things that's down to the players standard of professionalism in their recovery.
Plenty of rumours that suggest Carroll maybe hasn't been 100% focused on recovery at times and it's no secret that Wilshire has been a bit of a lad in the past so as I say are certain players 100% committed in their recovery compared to say a Man City this leaving themselves open to a risk of reoccurrence or new injury?

There is a lot of bad luck in this, of course. Lanzini's injury, Frederick's injury, Yarmalenko's injury, Sanchez's injury, Balbuena's injury all very serious injuries in matches.
Arnies, again, more recently just bad luck.
Wilshire's is an old injury where bone that was once fixed had come unattached. Yes, we knew what we were getting with him but, still, its bad luck.
All individually very bad luck and also for the team very bad luck that so many players get such bad injuries all at the same time. I mean, to have three players from a squad all out with ACL injury is just fucking unreal.
However, having said all of that, this has been going on for years at the club. And so despite the bad luck there has to be something that is more underlying.
People say training methods. But we have had different managers with different methods and have all suffered with big injury lists. I can't see how its the facilities. Lots of people bang on about how bad they are but are they? Really? We are a PL club and no PL club has shit training facilities.
I just don't know.

How many of our players are actually injured in training (with us, not on international duty)?
Or is it that we don't train enough, and then our players try to get too much out of unfit bodies in actual matches?

Didn't know Yarmolenko was out for the season.
Shows the importance of a decent squad.
