Hammers new London Stadium agreement published
Pinched from C&H

London Stadium owners E20 have published the amendment agreement with West Ham United to increase capacity. The new deed of variation on the initial Concessionaire agreement signed in 2013 by both parties sets out to clarify and define areas of un-certainly with contract definitions of capacity at the stadium which led to long running court battle settled out of court in November last year.

The new agreement signed by Hammers Vice Chairman Karren Brady and West Ham CFO Andy Mollet last November sets a new minimum football capacity of 57,000 while legally describing the rights, costs and fees paid by West Ham to increase to capacities of 60,000, 62,500 and 66,000.

The legal agreement defines a ‘kill seat’ as a type of seat not available to West Ham because of heath and safety grounds, a regulatory body requirement or if it forms part of a segregation area

West Ham must pay the stadium owners 50% of the costs for legitimate capacity works it takes to increase to 60,000 or £900,000 which ever is the greater.

The document reveals that the London Stadium has a total of 66,513 seats in place although that could increase a further 700 to 67,213 if the North and South stands are reconfigured.

Surely it will be 63000 then 66000 before any material changes increase closer to 70000!

Seems a while since the general perception was that the stadium would be half empty and the club would be dumping thousands of free tickets to the detriment of Orient and Charlton?

"Kill seat"?

Are they wiring these up to the mains to stop West Ham from using them?
