West Ham takeover rumours resurface
Cant see it anywhere else on WHO.

Personally im sceptical that this will come to pass, BUT.........

According to Claretandhugh, we may well be in consideration again by the Qatari Royal Family who want to add an English club to the stable, they currently run and fund PSG, so would be under a different structure so as not to breech FIFA rules.

A report in the Daily Telegraph that the Qatari Royal family are looking at the possibility of buying an English club has increased speculation that West Ham could be a target.

They couldn't even get the name of the club right early on. Takes some doing making GSB look professional in comparison

Re: West Ham takeover rumours resurface
Not sure - reckon the HU folk will tell you, though.

The whole 'takeover' looked flimsy and destined to fail from the start. PAI smacked of a group on the lookout for a bargain. When they realised that wasn't on the cards, and that our owners are no mugs even if they are not popular, then they pulled the plug.

I think they believed that there would be a lot more fan pressure on GSB to sell and thought they would catch that wave. They didn't because, above all else, our fans are not mugs. They could throw all the ex-players they like into the public domain to 'support' a bid (be interesting to find out if any of them were paid). But the whole thing was doomed to failure.

Did they ever bother getting back to Hammers United?

To me, it was pretty obvious from the off, that these weren't the right people.

Re: West Ham takeover rumours resurface
Not surprised that PAI have walked away.

Happy to let you into some background...

In recent months/weeks, some serious (who are not rah- rah sports hacks) journalists started to ask questions about the people behind PAI. This included approaches to legal firms, the Azerbaijani embassy/consulate, Interpol and others - simply to glean information on some of the figures involved in the attempted takeover of a club that, whether we like it or not, uses a major public asset (the Stadium).

I was among that group of hacks, and some of the information that we received back from various organisations would not have assisted in PAI's bid for the club.

It looks like the attempt to leverage the current owners out of the club has failed. But I can tell you that serious questions remained unanswered over whether PAI really had the (legitimate) money to fund the takeover anyway.

Re: West Ham takeover rumours resurface
I have no time for the current ownership but this moralistic avenue of 'porn baron' defamation is all rather puerile

The reality is that they both commercially recognised and exploited a market opportunity that had an unfulfilled demand - did so and reaped the reward, handsomely

Akin to the potential of our football club, for which they will once again be the beneficiaries come the inevitable sale

Just fasten the belts upon those who may seek to navigate a way around paying what is wanted, political expediency around tax payer liability, estate development and last but not least, to us, the football club

There will be plenty of future interest, with most placing the club first in PR but last in reality

Re: West Ham takeover rumours resurface
These guys were dodgy as shit. Would have been the equivalent of us all being overjoyed that Terry Brown had gone (only to be sneaked back in via the back door) and thinking the Icelandic bankers/ biscuit magnates were the saviours simply because they weren’t the last lot. We need to learn from our history.

Don’t get me wrong, GSB need to fuck off but that doesn’t automatically make anyone else the answer - Beard screwed up QPR and wasn’t prepared to say where the money was coming from and was clearly just a front, whilst the deal so much as we were ever told about it was clearly focused on the real estate around the stadium and the club would at best have been treated as a necessary evil with any minor investment coming from profits elsewhere.

Good riddance and we can only hope that the publicity around this has pricked up the ears of more serious investors. But as long predicted, an actual sale won’t happen for another two years.

As I suggested below, without any specific knowledge, these chancers were only ever being used as a stalking horse

Corporate protocols suggested just that, a PR opportunity too obvious to miss by the board and so it seems

As for Cottee, as I said, a self serving lemon, who has been played, again, hopefully the bloke who was desperate to play for Arsenal had a drink out of it as some suggest he is a well meaning plank

I have no idea who the bidder may be, but I was told by someone who would know that there was a serious bidder and that it wasn't PAI.

Cottee is the kiss of death to any takeover bid. I reckon the owners deploy Cottee whenever they're getting a bit concerned that a potential bid is in the offing and gaining a bit of momentum with the fans. He's like the grim reaper.

Pai were never in the running to buy the club . Whoever it was close to buying us it certainly wasn't them . As soon as I saw psychoscoredthelot calling their bid dwarfism on kumb I knew it wasn't them . As he genuinely knows exactly who is behind the bid .

If these fuckers were professional and actually had the money then that statement might have a little more credibility.

Oh and shame on the other fuckers on here that were so desperate to see a change of ownership they were happy to take anyone including these morons.

At least Rio can go back to tweeting about Man Utd everyday again.

Oh sorry, he never actually stopped doing that!
