Sri Lanka bombings
Blasts in three hotels and three churches. Death toll currently 137. On Easter Sunday, of all days. Cowardice.

I hope this was not the work of Islamic extremists. That would just make an already bad situation even worse.

At least one of them lived in Britain for a while.

Don't be shocked if it turns out that the UK is where he was radicalised.

Having been to a church school and had religion force fed to me for 5 years, I can state with absolute certainty, that all religion is bollox.

I cant see anything good in it. All it really does is relive the vulnerable and the gullible from their money.
The Church of England owns most of Kennington yet still send round the collection plates.

Derren Brown did a good one on religion

it's a fucking excuse so we all avoid the truth about radical Islam.
meanwhile we are all encouraged to wear head scarfs for solidarity and mind what we say about Islam.

"It came after Sri Lanka's government said initial investigations suggested the attack had been carried out as "retaliation" for shootings at two mosques in New Zealand last month that killed 50 people."

This line has been trotted out by most of the western media. its just 'retaliation', kind of justifying it.

So, a reaction to the Christchurch attack?

India sends terror bomb warning Intel to Sri Lanka - 4th March

Christchurch attack - 15th March.

Re: Sri Lanka bombings
Ridik, seeing as there are already 2M muslims in Sri Lanka they can stay home and radicalise themselves.

It's all about creating fear through the threat and reality of violence. How and where that's done is peripheral.

Its been confirmed that one of the suicide bombers had studied in the UK.

Probably radicalised at one of our regressive universities.

At least we are tolerant.

"Those that carried out the attack that targeted members of the US-led coalition and Christians in Sri Lanka the day before yesterday are Islamic State group fighters," a statement released by the group's propaganda agency Amaq said.

...

The Islamic State group on Tuesday said it was behind a devastating string of suicide attacks against churches and hotels in Sri Lanka that killed more than 320 people on Easter Sunday.

The claim emerged more than 48 hours after the near-simultaneous blasts tore through three high-end hotels popular with foreigners and three churches packed with Christians marking Easter.

It came after Sri Lanka's government said initial investigations suggested the attack had been carried out as "retaliation" for shootings at two mosques in New Zealand last month that killed 50 people.

The Sri Lankan government had already pointed the figure at a little-known local Islamic extremist group called National Thowheeth Jama'ath (NTJ), but said it was investigating whether they had international support."

In a very medieval way, I can rationalise one religion killing worshippers of another religion, because that's what humans have been doing for thousands of years.

But, I don't get targeting non-religious buildings, where you're just as likely to kill those you hate, as you are those who follow your own religion.
