Useful to have an actually competitive game as a warm up though. Quite a few injury niggles for England already, which might prove critical as the tournament progresses.

VINCE might get a crack at the Ashes.

Warm up ?

What a fucking stupid term

What a fucking waste of time

We should have played our best team and fucking obliterated them

I don't understand the limp wristed approach to this game

Rumours that England are planning on playing 5 men against Afghanistan given how competitive they were with 9 men.

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
LIGHT YEARS

Good net session for both teams
England seem to be playing a LOT of games
With Pakistan x 5 & Afghanistan that will be 7 warm ups

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Perfect outcome for 9 man England. All batsmen with time in the middle and plenty of mental scars inflicted with only 9 players in a pre-season friendly.

That Coulter-Nile will need therapy after that over.

Hardly holding back. One has tonsillitis

On this showing Australia are light years behind England

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Slowhand Steve batting for his average and runs out the only big hitter in the team.

Langer: OK guys we’ve got to be targeting 350+ and showing team ethic and selflessness.

Smith: N’aw s’alright JL I’ll bat for my average cobba.

Langer: Steve remember the team goals, we must try and win the Cup together and not look for personal goals and averages.

Smith: N’aw mate. Gotta keep my average over 40 mate.

Langer: Steve it’s a warm up game, there are no averages. It’s more about strike rate and intent.

Smith: N’aw JL, Smudger always has an average going.

Under 5 an over after 22 overs.

1992 called and wants it’s ODI batting back.

Watching this final, for all the millions Hampshire have spent, clear to see that haven't spent any of it on any fans the cunts!!!

Awful support from them and the wurzels.

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
England effectively playing 10 a side by just giving Wood 3 overs.

England having a warm up and a bit of a pre-season run around. Warner treating it like a World Cup final and batting for a non-existant average. Bit embarrassing really.

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Understand its 12 a side
Only 11 can bat or field obviously
Think both teams are giving everyone a run over the warm up games
Australia holding Starc and Cummins back.
England doing the same with Archer

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Not an official ODI.

Runs scored and wickets taken do not go into player's career stats.

Shame the snotbubble blubbering crybaby cheat duo get off lightly here, that souless bowl is hardly hostile at the best of times and the place is going to be empty what with Kolpackshire playing at Lord's in the ODC final.

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
19-1 from 4.3 overs - too far behind the rate already for a team eyeing up 500.

May as well call the rest of the day off and rest up for Thursday.

15 a side today ?, how does that work

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Thanks for the update on your 9 (NINE) year prediction, OhMatty

I actually recall one of your other predictions which WAS probably about 9 years ago that the ODI game was MORIBUND and that the format wouldn’t last much longer.

Afghanistan are a very exciting team with exceptional spinners and their batting has a style to it. They seem more likely to move ahead than Bangladesh, Zimbabwe or Ireland.
Like Sri Lanka they will find their first success in short form cricket but their Test cricket might take some time. Especially if they can’t get teams to visit them.

Re: ODI World Cup warm ups - England v Pakistan
Afghanistan roll over Pakistan.

As I predicted 6 years ago they will be winning Test series against established sides by the end of 2022.

They need the same opportunities afforded to the other minnows upon entry - Bangladesh, Australia and Sri Lanka.

Let me know which of those involve ball tampering & I will consider it.

I think you already have them covered with Shane "bookies, drugs, sexual harrasment and assaulting a kid over smoking photo" Warne surely?

Or is he not part of the interview team?
