I did a parachute jump when I was fifty. I'll never forget the fear I had i just before leaving the plane, and the indescribable elation as the chute opened. Not the best of landings as I misjudged the speed I was going down, and did not get into the right position when I hit the deck. But overall it was a great experience.

For this bloke to do the jump at his age is incredibly brave.

Great read. Still a hero thinking about others with his Salvation Army work.

Great read that... my Gt Unc was with 6th Airborne on D-Day... also dropped on the battle for the Rhine a year later... loved what he said about teh Sten Gun... always looked a tight piece of embarrassing shit
