One of several England defenders who failed to impress against the Netherlands last night, Kyle Walker may be disheartened to learn Manchester City are hitching their skirts at Juventus right-back, João Cancelo. Bought from Real Madrid for £26m, Danilo is expected to leave the Etihad this summer and City are reported to have rejected a £13m bid from Inter for the Brazilian. With Juve also believed to be interested in the full-back, a player-plus-cash deal could be in the offing.

One man who had a more enjoyable evening in Guimaraes was Matthijs de Ligt, who has been consistently linked with a move to Barcelona but is now being tipped to join Paris Saint-Germain. With Leonardo due to return to his former role as sporting director with the French champions, ESPN say the Brazilian has been in constant contact with Mino Raiola, the player’s agent and is apparently more inclined to meet what are described as the broker’s “high commission demands” than Barcelona. PSG are also believed to have offered Tottenham Julian Draxler in exchange for Christian Eriksen.

A longtime target of Manchester United, Harry Maguire is ready to ignore overtures from Old Trafford and move to their City rivals instead. With their fans increasingly frustrated by their club’s non-appointment of a director of football and lack of activity in the transfer market, United could also miss out on Maguire’s teammate James Maddison, who would rather stay at Leicester than take his chances in Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s squad. Having been impressed by Youri Tielemans during his spell on loan last season, Leicester want to sign him permanently but will have to fend off interest from Tottenham Hotspur and – you’ve guessed it – United.

Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny is wanted by Bundesliga side Schalke, while his team-mate Idrissa Gueye could be off to PSG. Following his impressive breakthrough season in the Premier League, Everton left-back Lucas Digne is wanted by Tottenham, who will have to offer Danny Rose and lots of cash to get him. Elsewhere on Merseyside, 19-year-old Liverpool midfielder Rafael Camacho will become the latest member of Wolverhampton’s burgeoning Portuguese community if Nuno Espírito Santo gets his way.

Newcastle fans will be unimpressed to learn of speculation linking Salomón Rondón with a move to Fenerbahce. The Venezuelan striker established himself as a firm fan favourite while on loan at St James’ Park from West Brom last season, but with the current mushroom cloud of uncertainty hovering over the Tyneside club, he and his current employers could be forgiven for listening to concrete offers from elsewhere.

Crystal Palace want to sign Jerdy Schouten and Thomas Ouwejan, a pair of Dutch footballers the Rumour Mill has never heard of before, while Barcelona are prepared to offer the slightly better known veteran Italian goalkeeper Gigi Buffon a new home. Should he sign for the Spanish side, he could take the dressing-room peg vacated by Philippe Coutinho, who has told the Camp Nou hierarchy he wants to move elsewhere.

And finally, as reported yesterday, Eden Hazard’s dream move to Real Madrid is this close to becoming a reality. The Spanish side will pay £88.5 million up front for the 28-year-old playmaker in a deal that could be worth as much as £130m to his current club depending on add-ons related to appearances, goals and silverware. Hazard has been told the two clubs have reached an agreement and the deal will be finalised once Belgium have got their forthcoming European qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland out of the way.

West Ham line up improved £15m bid for Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan as Manuel Pellegrini eyes six summer transfers

By Mark Irwin

WEST HAM are considering an improved offer for Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan after an opening £13.5milion bid was rejected.

Manuel Pellegrini is keen to sign his fellow Chilean as part of a major shake-up of his Hammers squad this summer.

The powerful 25-year-old impressed during last year’s World Cup finals and was one of La Liga’s most consistent defenders last season.

Alaves paid just £3milion to sign Maripan from Chilean club Universidad Catolica two years ago but are determined to get maximum profit for the player.

And even though West Ham have just let them have striker Lucas Perez for a knock-down £2million, they are not about to reciprocate the favour.

Maripan has two years of his contract remaining and his buy-out clause is £22million.

Alaves are holding out for the full release payment but West Ham are still hoping to strike a deal at around £15million.

Pellegrini is looking to make up to six new signings this summer after the club released Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian and sold Perez and Edmilson Fernandes this week.

West Ham said to have reached agreement to sign player – Contract done ‘in coming days’

TRT Spor claim West Ham United are set to sign Fenerbahce defender Hasan Ali Kaldirim after being linked with the player in recent days.

As covered by Ajansspor, TRT Spor claims West Ham will pay his €5m release clause and the player is set to join the Hammers at the end of the international break.

The Fenerbahce captain has just one year left on his current contract and it’s claimed he will now move to England to achieve his Premier League dream.

The player’s agent this week denied there was a buyout clause present, but made it clear he was referring to the official contract. Therefore it’s quite possible there’s a verbal agreement for the release amount.

Fotomac report West Ham have reached an agreement for the transfer, and they say the player will sign his contract ‘in the coming days’.

Kaldirim was one of the most criticised players at Fenerbahce in recent years but last season he was a standout performer in a poor season for the Super Lig club. Fener were involved in a relegation battle for most of the season but they turned it around in the final stages.

The left back scored 3 goals and made 5 assists in 41 appearances for Yellow Canaries in all competitions during the last campaign.

Hammers linked to “exciting” striker

Serie B striker David Okereke is being linked with a possible move to either the Hammers or Crystal Palace.

And Claret and Hugh’s Italian-born Hammers fan and Serie A and B watcher Danny Danielli Leach has advised Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos not to miss out on a guy he describes as “a hugely exciting player.”

The Nigerian-born winger/striker has been on fire in the Italian second tier for Spezia and is available this summer with www.transfermarkt.com quoting a £6 million price as the likely selling figure.

Although he has a contract until 2022 Spezia are reported ready to sell to the highest bidder but with Inter Milan and Juventus also interested the Hammers have a fight on their hands.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have also had their name thrown into the mix, but a switch to Germany is considered a lower possibility than a move to the Premier League.

CandH’s Danny Leach writes: Okereke is a hugely exiting player of whom I have seen quite a bit and it comes as no surprise to see that we and others are interested in him. He can play either on the wing or through the middle and is the kind of guy who could settle very quickly into our game. He could be like Lanzini who after a period of adjustment becomes a big player for the Hammers and I hope they get him. He’s very much the jewel of the Spezia team and is very fast on the ball and is a fantastic dribbler. He plays down the right when used as a winger but cuts in on his strong left foot. He won’t cost fortunes and at 21 he is exactly the right sort of age. He’s a player I like very much and I hope we make a serious move for him.

West Ham United put off by Fabian Delph’s salary

Subhankar Mondal

West Ham United have been linked with Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.

According to The Times, West Ham United have considered signing Fabian Delph from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that City are willing to sell Delph this summer and want over £10 million as transfer fee for the 29-year-old former Leeds United midfielder.

The England international, who can also operate as a left-back, earns £80,000 per week as salary at City, and this is why West Ham have been put off, according to the report.

Good signing for West Ham United?

Delph has done well for City since he moved to the Citizens from Aston Villa in the summer of 2015, and he has also added versatility to his game by playing at left-back on occasions under manager Pep Guardiola.

The 29-year-old has been a success in the Premier League, and West Ham will be a better team with the England international in it.

True, Delph’s reported £80,000-a-week salary is high, but if the Hammers want to take the next step and compete regularly for a top-six finish in the Premier League, then they have to pay that sort of wages to attract the right kind of players.

West Ham have ‘submitted proposal’ to sign SD Eibar player, Arsenal also initiate contact

If Marca are to be believed, Joan Jordan is a much wanted footballer.

The 24 year old midfielder currently plays for SD Eibar, where he has a contract lasting until June 2020. Last season he made 38 appearances in midfield, scoring four goals and adding the same number of assists.

Sevilla are working to sign him, and Marca present West Ham United as serious competition. The Hammers are said to have ‘submitted a proposal’, whilst Arsenal have made contact to learn the conditions to sign the player.

It’s not just West Ham and Arsenal who could prove a problem for Sevilla, with Valencia, Villarreal, and other unnamed English clubs also said to be keen.

Jordan has a €15m buyout clause but Eibar, who are keen on a sale, would accept less than that. Not by too much, they want to at least get double figures, so a minimum of €10m.

The player’s former club Espanyol are entitled to 20% of a transfer fee.
