Pablo Fornals - signed

West Ham United is delighted to announce the signing of highly sought-after Spain international attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals.

A creative, technically-gifted playmaker with an eye for goal, Fornals joins the Hammers from Villarreal, for whom he has excelled in both La Liga and the UEFA Europa League.

Fornals, who becomes the second most-expensive signing in the Club’s history behind Felipe Anderson, has signed a five-year contract, with an option of a further year, after undergoing a successful medical at Spire London East Hospital.

Just 23, the Castellon-born player has already made more than 150 senior appearances and will join up with Manuel Pellegrini’s squad after representing his country at this summer’s UEFA European U21 Championship finals.

He’s playing out of position in a struggling team with little quality around him

He’s a good player. His vision is great and his passing. He’s top of our assists stats despite only starting 18 games so far.

He also times runs to the box really well and is normally the only player other than a forward who is in the area.

If we can find a way to play to his strengths and not limit him by shoving him out on the left, we’d get far more out of him. He he had a few more decent players to lay his passes and through balls to, he’d look far better as well!

One thing he can do is pick a pass, he does play with his head up. Still not sure he will ever have the pace for the English game but he puts a shift in. Not 100 sold on him but would never cunt him off.

There won't ever be many foreigners who hit the ground running in an average struggling team, so I'll judge him next season 9jce properly settled.

Do think he's improved though and his attitude is absolutely spot on.

Did you not see Rices ball in the build up to the 2nd?

Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
Not yet convinced seems to get too easily taken off the ball, but as others have saidhe works hard off the ball to keep his shape in the team probably a big plus in Moyes book

His pass back to Antonio for our third goal was the pass of the match!

I like him, don't know why, but I hope he progresses.

Seems to be one of those players that heavily divides opinion. I think though he didn't offer much going forward he got through a lot of hard work last night and had a hand in the winning goal. Needs more consistency and more goals although can't see the latter happening in the current set up.

Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
We need better, he is nowhere near the likes of Madison, Neves, Andre Gomes.....all bought for similar cash......id even have Mason Mount over him i think

He doesnt have enough of a goal threat for a attacking mid, when he gets chances he snatches at them

But he does run his bollocks off and gives 100%, so heres hoping he improves. Not easy to imrpove surrounded by the shower of shit we have this season......or when the defence pump the ball to the other teams CB's most the game. But he needs to try and be braver and get on the ball and make things happen

I think next season (if we stay up) he will improve big time.

Strikes me as a player who has needed time to get use to the prem.

Him infront of Rice and Soucek is not a bad three in the middle!

Re: Pablo FORNALS - signed
Considering we could have bought a STRIKER instead, he’s been a poor buy.

At least he looks like he’s trying, unlike that waster Anderson.

Re: Pablo FORNALS - signed
he is an exceptionally good player.

he is currently struggling with the make up and tactics, that we are using in our game plan'

and a loss of form and confidence

Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
He does need more goals, has 2 which puts him about 8th in the squad with Ogbonna.
He is good for assists, 5, best in the squad with Snodgrass.
The goals will come as he is working for that.

Not true good sir, I’ve seen through Anderson a long time ago. Fornals has been a good signing and I will defend him and don’t give a shit about your sad personal attacks. Get to the point and post about football you fool.

Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
Mex - But you rate every single player though, don't you. So your opinion on a player simply has no credibility. You post like a 12 year old with posters all over his bedroom walls. Only one idiot her, and that is you, sir.

Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
Not knocking the bloke as he tries, but he just look a very average, ordinary footballer to me. We already have Noble, Snods, Rice and Soucek as 'neat and tidy' players, we need more attacking dimensions, which is what I thought we signed this fella for?

collyrob 6:15 Thu Jul 2
Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
He’s been a “great singing” apparently

Manuel 5:41 Thu Jul 2
Re: Pablo Fornals - signed
Like Anderson, he can't beat a player. I thought he come over with a reputation of being an attacking midfielder? if so he is definitely not that, not at this level anyway. So what is he then? He's not an awful footballer, but what is he and what does he bring to the party?
