Things you'd completely forgotten...
Public phone boxes, the proper red ones - the lists of area dialling codes on the inside window, only you could never use them, because the done thing was to stub cigarettes out all over the codes making them unreadable...

Most people can fill in the dots with something like "but have now remembered".

Re: Things you'd completely forgotten...
There is that.

My stubbed out dialling codes were spotted on a tv programme and it bought back a whole host of memories, (some good, some bad) of illegible dialling codes.

British Relay TV

Which was an early form of cable which did BBC1, BBC2 and ITV plus one or two of the regional ITV stations in the counties neighbouring where you lived. Radio stations with good clear reception too.

It was a bit overrated - it was the reception which was better than beating the shit out of an indoor aerial which never worked

Writing down phone numbers

Leaded petrol

A drill with an electric lead and a plug

£1 notes

Queuing outside UP for cup replay tickets

Writing out betting slips

Putting your credit/debit card in those sliding machines

Getting your wages in cash on a Friday afternoon

Needing anything and being fucked up the arse because it was Sunday and nothing was open.

Putting your whip money in a glass and leaving it on the bar without fear of a horrible little scroat nicking it

Being to be an evasive cunt because I never had a mobile phone.

Parking wherever you wanted

Ticket collectors on the underground

Sticking all your rubbish in one bin, and dustmen who weren’t to fucking idle to walk the drive and empty it for you.
