Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
£750k with add on

1 yr left on his contract so some cash back on a signing that had promise but was defeated by injuries.

Best wishes Sam

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Sorry it didn’t work out for him, but ultimately 750k probably a bit cheap but for someone who is constantly injured and with one year left I’d take it. 25k off the wage bill too. Probably Norwich marquee signing

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
My mate met him in York once, he told him West Ham were shit and he wouldn't ever support them - cunt.

Everyone makes mistakes.

But his recovery tackle was always a foul.

3 minutes. At least he's now got a matching shirt.

Good luck young man. You can run fast. But you were truly unexceptional. Mwah.

How quick into his debut do you think he'll get booked?

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Saw him a few years ago playing for us in the 2nd leg of the Youth cup final at Hull, their winger gave him a bit of a run around. I always thought he was a better wing back than full back, wish him luck at Norwich!

£750k?? Did Jack do this deal???

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Shame. Would be worth 10 or even 20 times that amount in the current market if he wasn’t injury prone. Right decision for everyone though. Best of luck Sam.

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
he is ok but not a top 6 player which is what we need don't we? rash in a challenge and made of glass

nice lad though and wish him well

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Every time he played and that wasn't often he seemed to pick up a yellow card.
That's too much of a risk in today's climate

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Real shame this one didn't work out, had very high hopes for him when he arrived. I have a few mates who are big Leeds fans, and they were absolutely gutted when we got him and each one said he'd be an England international within a couple of years. Looked top class in his debut v Man City too. Just shows how quickly things can change in football. A part of me would have preferred keeping him over Zabaleta, but with the injuries and Zaba's form last season, this was obviously not really an option. A good move for the player and Norwich though, wish him well.

If they can get 20k a week off the books they will.

Johnson must be on a fraction of that

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Decent player. 750k for a player moving between PL clubs is absolute peanuts. I thought 5 million was the starting point these days.

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
The current Norwich right back is a young lad called Max Aarons, very good and was attracting interest from PL clubs.
Either Norwich are planning on selling Aarons or Byram will be warming the bench.

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
Shame but had a Carroll like ability to pick up injuries.
Think it was against Boro he pulled a hamstring competing for a header.
I thought he started well but was better going forward and a major card risk defending.
With Fredericks Zaba and Johnson his chances would be minimal if not nil.
Good luck to him.

Norwich were impressive last season with a good young team but interesting to see if they can step up.

Wasn't he injured at the time we actually signed him?

He's a decent player, not PL standard IMO, However Boots is bang on.

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
I reckon the emergence of Ben Johnson made Byram's time at West Ham limited

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
I quite liked him and thought he showed some promise.

I get why we sold him but it's a shame as I think he had that bit between his teeth that meant if he could break into the team and hold his position he would endear himself to the fans too.

Nevermind, good luck to him.

Re: Sam Byram - Garn to Narch
I thought he looked good at left back when he came on last week.
Doesn't seem much of a transfer fee to me, but Pellegrini has decided he's not required.

It's "now garn to Narch" actually, but good effort.

Is it gone to Norwich by chance?

Translation of this gibberish if you please........
