The BBC are going to be devastated!
England women’s cricket team didn’t win their World Cup this year and now getting stuffed by the Aussies.

The England ladies netball team beaten in the semi final by the Kiwis.

It’s going to hurt but the BBC sports team of the year will have to go to the England men’s cricket team.

There will be tears at the Beeb.

Re: The BBC are going to be devastated!
Every year, the bloke's football team I'm associated with plays a friendly netball match with their woman's netball sister club. I've dodged it so far, but it may be a laugh.

I don't know the rules, which may be a disadvantage.

We used to do this once a year at school, none of us would have a clue of the rules but we would absolutely wipe the floor with the girl's best players every year.

Team of the year at SPOTY? Nailed on to be the (men's) Cricket world cup winning team, I would imagine.

Re: The BBC are going to be devastated!
It’s nothing to do with the bbc covering it or not.
It’s awarded (via a panel of ‘experts’ ... no public vote) to a team. Is supposed to be of the most notable team performance. Should have significant UK interest or involvement.

So it COULD be a FOREIGN team if it has ‘significant UK interest’.
Losing the Ashes 5-0 at home should create ‘significant UK interest’ shouldn’t it?

I would think the 50% of the population this is targeted at were happy with the coverage and mildly pleased with the result.

I should really watch some netball.

I may have play some at some point.

Yeah, yeah, much rather that the next generation of young girls watch manipulative women trying to fuck the most instagram-friendly vacuuous man for cash. Far better than watching fit/intelligent ambitious women with skills (whether it's Serena Guthrie or Helen Czerski) actually trying to achieve something in their chosen fields.

If you have even half a brain, BBC 4 is currently broadcasting some stunning science and history content, for example. Many exceptional programme makers.

Do yourself a favour and ditch Gogglebox and the like for something that might improve you as a human. You definitely need it.

No one gives a fuck about Netball f spite the BBC pretending it's a big deal.
Women's Cricket, Rugby & football etc. is not as good as the men's game and no one gives a shit about them either. They wern't invented as a women's sports and are a pale immitatation of the men's versions, end of!

I reckon you view things differently if youve got girls. Ive got two - and it made me view things differently. Before - maybe i viewed things as a bloke - and looked on with disdain at birds efforts to do things traditionally blokes did. I viewed birds as mum - sister - bird.

Now - i think why the fuck shouldnt my girls do things blokes normally think is their manor only. Especially if as im realising they are as good at or better than some of them. Theres an equalising and a reckoning happening that we never saw in our lifetime, which basically is that they can do the same as us - make the same moves as we did - in most things.

Its a tide that wont be turned back. I respect my two - and ill watch their little journeys with interest. They havent got the same sort of shackles birds did in our day. Fair play. Woe betide anyone who tries to put it on me youngest as she has got my wifes determination and extermination skills.

I suspect that twoleftfeet is Milly. Even if he isn’t, he’s obviously got a chip on his shoulder about women, probably because they won’t sleep with him.

Personally I’m not really interested in women’s football, but I quite like women’s rugger.

Not sure it deserves a thread unless you’re stewing in resentment.

Maybe it is just me but can you please tell me if I am off the mark here. I find with this women's sport and the "expert pundits" they have to talk all the fucking time. They don't take a breath. They were commentating on the warm up the other day. I found myself questioning my sanity. Why were they doing that? They talk as if this is normal. Also when they had foreign commentators on the cricket they micro analyse every fucking thing as if we need all of the air time full of bullshit. I suppose I am spoilt listening to "Aggers" and "Jonners" but they spoke to me in a way that this modern age of commentator doesnt. I am too old for this shit. I don't give a fuck about how good you say they are if they are shit say so you mugs!

Don't worry, trannies are smashing records left right and centre in some women's sports.

Women's sports will be a thing of the last soon cos progress.

Cant stand women playing men's sports.
All they are doing is trying to promote lesbianism.

Re: The BBC are going to be devastated!
Its received scandalously little coverage and the lack of any kind of commentary on it is just disgusting - but this weekend the Hedgehog Female Olympian Football competition was held in East Anglia.

25 teams of lady hedhehogs from 17 counties and four different hedges attended this celebration of ladies small spiky mammal sport - yet not one fucking TV camera televised the carnival of small field dwelling pursuits. Not even channel 4 or the terrestrial channel 'lesbian hedgehog pride 24' run by Al Jazeery. Jon Snow didnt even mention it on Channel Pravda 4 comrades update.

So very very racist, pugilist and facist, I am disgusted.+ some others ists - i am sure. Fucking Ist ist. Hedgehog ist. Cunt ist.

The fucking owls - them cunts get every sport they play televised on channel 4 or 17. Owl Basketball - Owl Cribbage - Owl Kabbadi.

The people of this country should be fucking ashamed of themseles.

It is more to do with the BBC having to pick around the crumbs of the sports rights that they can still afford after the pay TV companies have snaffled the prize events.

Nobody is showing anything down your throat. I have very easily managed to not see any of the netball, and I haven't been consciously avoiding it. Same goes for the women's football World Cup. Only watched about 10 minutes. Wasn't very compelling, switched it off. I do the same with a lot of men's football too, as I find so much of it a massive snorefest regardless of the gender of the players.

My daughters watched the football though and liked it. Fair enough. My eldest likes playing too and she got into it.

Very strange post really.
