Bucharest , couple of days to kill.
Toying with hiring a car and going to Dracula’s castle Monday morning, anything else worth seeing?

My ex lives there, so you could always pop around and...

....Oh, I see you already have that planned

Loved it. Really not set up for tourists though. They need to exploit the brutality and bleakness of the place, which I doubt is a popular angle. Plenty of nightlife in Bucharest though.

If you do drive to the beautiful Brasov, keep an eye out for a billboard about three quarters of the way there advertising Razvan Rat's B&B. It isn't small!

Stayed in Bucharest twice for the Astra games. Lots of street cafe culture /bars. Likewise Brasov is very nice, again lots of places to eat and drink

Went to Romania for a few days in March

Dracula`s (Bran) Castle was a bit disappointing i thought, not that much to see and tourists everywhere.

Travel a bit further to Rasnov Citadel for amazing views, then on to Brasov.

Cheap as chips to stay in Brasov old town which is worth a wander around.

They like Hollywood style signs, and cable cars to get to them.

Then visit Peles Castle at Siniai on the way back to Bucharest..

Bucharest resembles downtown Homs.

For some reason, the Bulgarians claim Vlad.

Not without some validity, but why would you want to?

A bloke who describes killing 24,000 as breaking the peace...

“I have killed peasants, men and women, old and young, who lived at Oblucitza and Novoselo, where the Danube flows into the sea … We killed 23,884 Turks, without counting those whom we burned in homes or the Turks whose heads were cut by our soldiers …Thus, your highness, you must know that I have broken the peace.”
