I was in Barcelona at the time and the media made it out to be WW3

We was talking about that at Watford. If you were outside the station then you wouldn’t of seen a punch thrown, but there was else where, as that family of millwall behind the east stand will tell you. You could tell it was going to be interesting by about 4pm, for some reason I think they had half the number of old bill out compared to the previous league games. Was a great atmosphere with only about 22,000 there and it made me think what we would generate if we had Watford’s ground, be good I reckon.

Most definitely not a riot. The atmosphere was good, and It was the nearest atmosphere to how it used to be in the 1980s most weeks.

I left before the final whistle as we were playing shit and I was bored .

Got back to Ilford (ESSEX) and it was 3-1.

Funniest part of the night was a MIllwall bod phoning me after the game screaming 'OFF YOUR FUCKIN' RADAR?'

We're all they have. Bless

Fat blokes in 3/4 length trousers and fatter Doris’s with handbags on the pitch doesn’t make a riot.
That part was embarrassing and anyone on the pitch should have been banned for life.
Or rounded up and be put in front of the Millwall fans and let them at each other.

The rivalry is second to none, if not THE biggest rivalry in the world seeing as we really are more than prepared to kick each other to fuck and not know when to stop. The Spurs thing is a rivalry in the sense they are gobby cunts who overate themselves and we are more than capable of putting them in their place for this, so it's not really a rivalry but more their lack of self awareness.

Best atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed. It doesn’t get any more passionate and intimidating as it was that night.

There's always hatred in the air at those games.

A detective once told me that, per person, it is the most expensive game to police in Europe.

The Met have scores and scores of police from Essex and other forces on standby - as well as a spare helicopter (in addition to the annoying one that hovvers over the ground) and armed units if necessary.

Armed units!

Pwopah farking cockney.

The last time we played each other, I travelled home on the tube politely chatting to Millwall fans.

The reality is always different.

The atmosphere before the game was so tense you could have cut it with a knife. Outside the Queens pub, loads of West Ham fans were fenced in, chanting, rattling their caged enclosure and getting lagered up.

I was in the BML. During the game, we were pretty shit and it looked like we were going out, until Stanislas and Hines saved the day. A few idiots ran on the pitch and that got all the headlines. An emotional night for Collison.

After the game I walked straight to the station. I didn’t see any trouble but didn’t look for it either. Apparently there were a few bad incidents.

There were no riots. But you could sense the hatred in the air.

Someone called it on and next thing it was all on top. People being upped all over the place.

In reality the toughest person at Upton Park that night was on the pitch, Jack Collison.
