Re: northern pubs
I was in rural Somerset for a week 4-50 for a pint of Amstel, not surprising the pubs were quiet and those up north are still doing ok, expect the rural pub will be a thing of the past in the not to distant future, well in the south???

I got battered in Stavely because I pulled out a bullseye to pay for 2 drinks.

Re: northern pubs
How much did you pay for a pint? that might give you a clue as to how the pubs are busy all day. They don't charge £5+ a pint like they do in London and some parts of the south!

Definitely not. They didn’t appear to even have an iphone!
Even if they did, I doubt you could get pissed stained corduroys on the internet.

Re: northern pubs
I needed a slash and just went into Wetherspoons to use their bogs.
The place was packed out.
They all looked like they were on benefits and had nothing better to do with themselves.
A very depressing environment.

Last week I pub crawled my way around Soho for two days running. Didn't visit the same pub twice. Wasn't cheap but I love it there. You can stick 'up north' where the sun doesn't shine...

Shame about The Coach & Horses though....

Tragically the Spoons in Yeovil is probably the best boozer in town as all the others are khazi's. I say probably 'cos I doubt I'll ever go in it.

Re: northern pubs
I don’t think the price has much to do with it as the average annual wage up north is about 18k
