Any experts on the new-ish FIFA ranking formula on here?
Basically wondering if the points (positive and negative) you get for each match are applied from both legs of two-legged tie or is it just considered one win, law or draw.

I am wondering about a specific situation, but it is well outside England's interests and would take some explaining so will only go into it if someone needs it and wants to help.

That is true.

But even then the FIFA rankings did decide whether you got to play in the primary qualifying tournament.

For CONCACAF teams now, it determines whether you getting a chance to qualify directly or not.

France (and England) are in a position where their FIFA Ranking really means very little.

May be currently, but have done in the past. Turn of the century we were a "second tier" ranked team, for world cup qualifying and had to finish in groups ahead of Italy and Germany, for automatic world cup qualification. And did.

For teams in federations other than UEFA, the FIFA rankings can mean a lot towards making the world cup, unfortunately.

No it doesn't - that's Europe clubs not countries.

Tell me more griff, I can't hear enough about it to be honest.

But though related, that was not a two-legged tie and not actually what I was asking about.
