Former England captain Bob Willis has died at the age of 70.
The fast bowler took 325 wickets in 90 Tests from 1971 to 1984, claiming a career-best 8-43 to help England to a famous win over Australia at Headingley in the 1981 Ashes.
He captained England in 18 Tests and 29 one-day internationals before his retirement from all forms of cricket in 1984.
In a statement, Willis' family said he had died "after a long illness".
RIP Bob, top player.

He played a key part in what became known as 'Botham's Ashes' when his hostile bowling saw him take 8-43 in the memorable third Test at Headingley that was won from a seemingly-impossible position.
Sky
Great match that

Archer will be very lucky to make the Test squad going forwards.
Very poor.
Noticeable that England have improved since Silverwood left NZ too.

Have you ever met a New Zealander, Matty? They aren’t people you’d describe as FLAMBOYANT Careful and turgid betraying their Scottish roots. Their wickets do tend to be slow and low apart from when they get rain and produce green tops in the English style. If England can get Williamson and Taylor before lunch the win is on here.

New Zealand will always try and not lose before considering future tours and challenges.
Hence playing on slow low pitches with a meaningful and important Aussie tour round the corner.
Illogical, but they always stood more chance against England on a slow low pitch.
Hence why they’ve never accomplished anything in cricket.

Incredibly boring series to watch in the most part, very little happening, Root's ton was his slowest, I think BlowJob Watling batted for something like 450 balls.
Pitches like that will kill test cricket

Sure pitches in new Zealand used to have something in them. The second road of the series and no half defeat test side should be losing either game tbh

I think Foakes must have declined a threesome with Smith and Root, baffling!

Some pondering for the dapper selector Edward Smith before England go to S Africa..... Is the near 34yo Joe Denly who averages 30 in Tests worth keeping at 3? Has Dominic ‘Dom’ Sibley (38 runs in 3 innings) shown enough to be exposed to Rabada & Philander? Who is the best keeper ...: Jocelyn ‘Jos’ Buttler, Jonathan ‘Jonny’ Bairstow or Oliver ‘Olli’ Pope?

Wasn't the shot, undroppable Stuart Broad our leading wicket taker this summer and was actually dropped for some of the tests last winter??

Ha ha Didn’t expect Pakistan to be quite so dismal as they looked ok in the warm up game against what was effectively Australia A. On their way to 14 consecutive Test defeats in Australia in the last 24 years.
New Zealand should be a much tougher proposition in the December/New Year Tests as probably have one of their best ever Test teams at the moment.
Australia still looking for batsmen and an allrounder at the moment. And maybe a leg spinner

David Warner could get 500 not out and he still be the biggest cunt to have ever played the game.
