He gets a lot of undue stick
... but who now appreciates a little more what Antonio offers?? We sure miss him.
He scores, he creates goals and he works hard in both directions. Not the technical talent of Anderson or Lanzini but wtf have those two offerred all season? No end product.
A team of hard workers often offers far more than disjointed but highly talented individuals and that’s always been a issue with us, attitude. We see ourselves as a big club, pay bug wages, now have a big attendance but usually give a big fat zero back in return.
Be pleased to see the Beast return.

A bit old for U23s, isn't he?

He peaked at the Seoul Olympics.

Ben Johnson
Expected to return to the u23’s after the international break.
Missing since Sept with a hamstring which has been unlucky as Grandpa Zabaleta is finished.

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
I think both Antonio and Johnson coming back from hamstring injuries will help the team, hopefull Johnson's is just growing pains. He could play anywhere across the back. More pace and control, feeding the ball upfield from these two will help Haller.

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
He would help but the root cause IMHO is an incomplete, unbalanced squad without enough pace and strength in midfield and not helped by a manager who does not see it he n ex for a work ethic and believes technical players alone win games

Much harder now with teams that press relentlessly and have pace all over the park

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
Evening Standard tonight reckons he has made a ‘speedy recovery’ and is training again.
Hoping to be available for the Spurs game after the international break.

Good.

Can he play in goal?

The rawness of Antonio is a theme that's overdone.

Paradoxically...

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
Don't worry, we'll rush him back when he's not fully fit. he'll have a couple of below average performances and the crowd will turn on him and he'll be as bad as everyone else in our squad.

Yarmolenko is a talented player but isn’t quick or mobile at all.
We would be great at walking football but have too many strollers and players that move like glaciers.

Ironically Northern Sold is much improved when he isn’t in the ground.
Just need to find a way to have him dropped off Rochford Pier with a couple of weighted rugby balls stuffed up his jumper.

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
Yeah, what’s happened to Yarmalenko? He was going great guns and now can hardly do a thing.

Rushed back?

Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
His brain does not know what his legs are doing... and that works as the defenders have not got a clue either.... proper Herbie Hide...

Sven Roeder 3:47 Mon Nov 4
Re: He gets a lot of undue stick
He had 3 or 4 leg injuries and never seemed fit when he came back. Also seemed to bulk up too much but looked better when he came in at the end of last season. Especially at the home of the Cunts with his winner.

When he is fit he gives us a different option and is hard to deal with. He is too powerful for most fullbacks so can bully them and too mobile for a lot of centre halves.
On Saturday our right hand side with the strolling Zabaleta and the immobile Yarmolenko was a JOKE.
Fredericks and Antonio on that side would be a different proposition
