Annoying TV advertisements
Like most people (should) I generally change the channel or mute the television when the programme I am viewing breaks for advertisements, but two advertisements that seem to be everywhere lately, and which are really irritating me are:

(i) the Deliveroo multi-delivery one featuring the intensely annoying Northern woman picking junk food out of a brown paper bag ("Bongiorno Italiano"); and

(ii) the BT artistic appropriation one featuring the smug looking school girl woodenly reciting the opening lines of "A Tale of Two Cities" for some seemingly incomprehensible reason or other.

These incredibly annoying advertisements really do seem to be everywhere at the moment. I most certainly won't be ordering from Deliveroo any time soon, or changing my mobile phone plan to BT!

Any other nominations for most annoying recent/current TV advertisements?

You'll be pleased to learn that Peloton (there's no r), despite $1Billion venture capital investment are haemorrhaging cash, thanks to their massive ad campaign.
Unfortunately the ads will continue until they've run out of dosh because without the ads there are no sales.
Looks like an unsustainable business model to me.

Re: Annoying TV advertisements
a lot of the "YOU DESERVE IT" type ones.

The one for pizzas (or is it betting, I forget) where a dozen or so people (covering the rainbow obviously) are all acting like cunts, stuffing their faces with pizzas whilst tracking their football accumulators. The bloke whose house it presumably is is obviously made to look an even bigger twat than the rest of them at some point.

The current alexa (or whatever the fuck it's called one), where a woman is using Alexa for all kind of things, and we the viewer discover at the end of the ad that the lady is in fact blind. Yep, that's right, because this is a really useful tool for a person without sight, it could also prove to be of use to you to continue being a fucking slob incapable of remembering more than two things at once. That one....

I make you right on Deliveroo but that is the effect they intend. It is so annoying you cannot but help remember it for the wrong reasons. I suppose a young white girl being used for an ad is a novelty these days so dont be hard on her, she's a minority.
The best advert ever is the Ribena one with Kevin and his "sphere of purple rhapsody"

Most Adverts annoy me. For multiple reasons. For that reason, most of ITV is viewed on catchup with the adverts skipped. Or I tend to channel hop during adverts

Although fro time to time an advert pleases at the moment I quite like the Tesco plus advert which is a voice-over of Casablanca.

I do not like the post code lottery add.
A week ago I had a dream that I won Β£100,000 on the post code lottery. I woke really excited and was planning to take my grandchildren to Florida. Then I realized it was only a dream. I can't describe my disappointment.

'Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins doing the Cinzano ads were golden'

Legend has it that these adverts were a massive flop because people enjoyed them so much, most missed the brand it was advertising.

Apparently the sales of Cinzano went down. and the sales of Martini went up.

Pretty much all of them. Its like all adverts are designed for kids these days, a patronising load of shit. They talk down to people, there seems to be nothing informative information. Explains why there are a lot thick people out there.
