Squeeze at the Royal Albert Hall
I went to see Squeeze last week at the RAH, I'm not a massive fan but Mrs Bank thought it'd be a good day/night out plus they were supported by Heaven 17 and she used to love them

A couple of things struck me, the place was almost a sell out with only the odd seat empty, Heaven 17 only had one good song and that was sung by the birds in the band but the main event Squeeze were superb, musically, vocally and the arrangement. You forget how many great songs they had

I’ve been a big squeeze fan since they started. That’s great they played the Royal Albert Hall! Quite an achievement.
Great lyrics.

Re: Squeeze at the Royal Albert Hall
I found a YouTube of them performing 'Tempted' at the RAH.
TWO drummers (for some reason) on the stage, and NEITHER of them fucking playing in what was a stripped down, self-indulgent version of the song.

Must try harder.

Saw them in the 80's at a free gig on Blackheath. Jools was his usual miserable self and they were shit.

Couldn't agree more,absolutely fantastic.

Been going to see them for almost 40 years

Tilbrooks voice has lost nothing and the rest of the band are fantastic musicians.

Also highly recommend Tilbrooks solo shows, he plays some great venues, St John’s Church in Farncombe and the Union chapel were excellent shows .

Great bloke as well, after the shows he always has time for the fans .

Saw them at Cliff's Pavilion, last year. Not the Albert Hall, but they were brilliant.

Fantastic songwriters and performers.

Fuck me!! AOI and I actually agree on something!!

Saw them at the LSE back in my dim, drug-addled past, with a couple of grams of Harris up my nose. One of the best night's of my younger life, especially as I ended up in the sack 2ith two Aussie birds. Them was the days !

Took the missus to see Squeeze at Hammy Odeon a few years back and she was gobsmacked how many great songs they had in their repertoire. I think casual listeners don't really understand what a great band Squeeze have been.

I remember reading a review of an album of theirs in Rolling Stone magazine in which the writer described Difford and Tillbrook as the second best songwriting duo in the UK, after you know who. He wasn't far wrong.

Kenzo agag

violater I thought Heaven 17 were alright as a warm up and agree on the excruciating rendition they did of the Righteous Brothers, also a bit awkward when the keyboard player tried to get political when introducing Fascist Groove Thing while dressed up in a sequined suit

I was there too with Mrs V, she didn't like H17 cos they are too electronic but I thought they were superb apart from the karaoke cover version of "you've lost that loving feeling"..
Squeeze were brilliant too, great to hear the forgotten song they done as a twosome "Love's Crashing Waves", but I would have loved for them to play "Some Fantastic Place"

Re: Squeeze at the Royal Albert Hall
Saw them years ago at the same venue. It was that long ago that Jools Holland was still in the band. They were excellent then and also excellent years later when I saw them performing outside the Excel Arena about 8-9 years ago.
