Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
We sold/released premier league proven players and brought in non premier league proven players. Who should take the blame for this?

''Roberto, Fornals & Haller were most definitely Pellegrini/Husillos signings''

Really?? Cracking insight that. Thanks.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Some mystifying signings and players let go without adequate replacement. We didn't get rid of some of the ones we should have and have invested heavily in gambles and under-performers or maybe just players who don't fit the system or Premier League or won't do what the manager is asking of them.
The last team I saw looking this lost was the team that got Bilic the chop.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
What is the biggest error is the failure to build on an identity. As much of a tosser Arnautovic was at his best his style of pace, press and move beyond defenders worked for a good while. We got rid of Carroll because apart the fact he was injured he didn't suit our style of play. We sell Arnautovic and yet replace him with an Andy Carroll type in Haller who isn't going to run beyond defenders, so what do we want?! He also isn't a lone forward but we can't play Noble in a two in the middle.

We keep splashing out on show pony wide men but don't sign any central midfielders. We but centre backs who aren't any better than James Tomkins. We flog a half decent second keeper for a disaster. There just seems to be no plan at all.

Selling Hernandes was a terrible decision too after the transfer window closed

A criminal decision. Hernandes would have won us some points for sure

Ajeti was in the Swiss league for a reason, proper Swiss players play in the Bundesliga.

We need 5 signings in January. Keeper (Can´t rely on Fabianskis fitness and he´s 35 so we should be signing someone to compete with Fabianski), Right and left full backs (No explanation needed), Centre midfielder (Rice needs a top pro in his prime alongside him) and a striker.

How much is needed to spend on that? 50 million minimum imo.

Will Sullivan and Gold stump up?

I'd question if they even are underperforming. My view is each were massively overvalued by us in the market. I couldn't tell you what other clubs wanted any of them - maybe nobody else wanted them at all at those prices. Talented players each, but why automatically expect them to adapt and flourish in the premier league? Anderson and Fornals blew hot and cold at previous clubs too. Haller is a good player and there are signs of real quality there, but was he ever a talismanic matchwinner? I'd argue he's started really well for us overall - he's just not worth that silly price!

Our attack would function properly with a decent defence and centre midfield.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
It’s about having a strategy. Leicester and Liverpool have had a very clear strategy for a while, and it’s showing.

Liverpool signed Mane, Salah and Firmino for £30m a piece. £90m on the most feared front 3 in world football. We spent £110m on Haller, Anderson and Fornals.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Collyrob,

Yep you are right. Same as they turned their nose up at Brendan Rodgers.

They don't understand that it's not always how much you spend but how you spend it. Rodgers sold Maguire for 80 Million and they didn't replace him and yet he somehow manages to organise his back 4 brilliantly.

We have 3 players in Anderson, Haller & Fornals that cost 42 million, 45 million and 24 million respectively. They are all under performing. Why are they under performing? Is it to do with our net spend?

It's well known that we could have sold Rice & Diop in the summer for 45 million plus each but we didn't. Why are they under performing? Is it to do with our net spend?

The reason Anderson, Haller, Fornals, Rice, Diop, Fredericks etc are underperforming and thus why the team is losing every week is down to 2 things.

The players themselves and the manager. If those 5 players I mentioned were playing to their abilities we would be in the top half of the table.

Stop with this net spend bollocks.

No signings made us better. Add to that the massive clear out and agenting players staying put.

Haller was a nr.2 choice, s marquee signing to calm fans. Never played the right way.

Fornals and Roberto was huuuuge gambles that went veeeery wrong.

Hudillo and Pelle are to' blame

We could sign Messi and I guarantee you he'd be shit within a month.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Haller is a top player, but can anyone think of a chance he has had in the last 10 games, can any one think of a cross that has been put in for him so he can use his height. We have a manager who wants to play tiki taki football and a 6ft 3 big forward, the two don't go together.

Every single one of knew we needed a holding midfielder in the summer and we got nothing. We spent 25m net and clear shed loads of the wage bill. Tight arse fucking cunts of owners

We all knew we needed another centre forward in case Haller go injured or was shit. We got nothing apart from some panic buy at the end of the window.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Haller and Fornals are good players IMO. Roberto was a shocker and Ajeti no where near starting quality as yet, if ever.

The real issue is who was sold and no't replaced. The Sullivan cash grab on Hernandez after the window had closed being case in point.

The manager and DOF do not sign the cheques.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Exactly they already had the Turkish fella in their squad to replace him.

If we had cashed in on Rice we'd be starting Carlos Sanchez every week and would be bottom of the league with zero points.

Barty 12:44 Tue Dec 10
Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
So becasue they have a good manager they didn´t have to replace Maguire? Wrong mate, they didn´t have to because they had a much more complete squad then ours

Our defence and centre midfield aint prem standard

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
you fucking same up. you're comparing us to a club that won the league a couple of years ago and sold two players for over £150m in the past two seasons. they're also owned by decent people, in it for the right reasons. there is no comparison you thick fucking cunt

Same fans who turned their nose up at Shelvey when he was mentioned in the summer. Exactly what our midfield is crying out for.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Leicester signed Evans for 3.5m. An absolute bargain and some of our fans turnt their noses up at him at the time.

Re: Who is to blame for our summer signings ?
Takeshi Miike,

Grow up you Prick!

Of course it's relevant. Leicester sold one of their best players for 80 million while we chose to keep Diop and Rice when we could have cashed in.

The revelance is that Leicester have a good manager who didn't need to replace Maguire and can obviously work with a 15 million net spend.
