Re: How much more are we going to take?
Bishops,

IMHO, I think there are a few steps (for everybody) to clarify before people start organising a concerted campaign etc.

It would need at least some support across the fan base.

It would need to unify around three or four key issues: little point in any protest being a general moan-a-thon about being a club that doesn't win things; we'd just look like whingers such as Newcastle (and we're better than that). So any real movement would need to highlight some hard evidence against the board's approach. None of this "they've not delivered the "next level" that they promised" nonsense - those sorts of arguments are easily torn to shreds.

You then to galvanise wider support around those core issues, within the fan base - because the club would need to know that it is something that has momentum.

Then you go to the media to generate wider coverage of the concerns.

A number of unco-ordinated, disparate approaches to various media won't work. History shows that football protested only really work when fans coalesce around a clear issue/couple of issues - such as the protests against the bond scheme. General discontent about a "poorly run club"? In all honesty, that is a hard sell to any media.

Amazing how they are suddenly willing to meet when there's a mention of a march.

Who'd have thought it.

Hammers United Update

The Committee can confirm that the club have asked for an initial meeting with Hammers United.
We welcome what we see as a progressive step, as we continue in our mission to drive change at the club.

In line with that mission, we are also pleased to confirm that we will be meeting the Metropolitan Police and our legal advisors as we continue to explore several direct protest options.

Your continued support of this group is now more important than it has ever been.

If you haven’t already, the time is now to get your West Ham supporting friends and family to join Hammers United.

Sorry to put you on the spot mate but as a journo is there anything you can help or even advise Chav to get more main stream coverage?

You attack their project not them, you switch the PR game they have going and you use the football media and the general public who had doubts about the club being there in the first place.

Our PR ace card is we the support are the only thing they (the football media) got wrong about the move. We the support can easily fill it, we stepped up in masses.

I’m not going on a contract. I’m saying they went on record saying X and X didn’t materialise. Also the team isn’t fit for purpose surely I’ve got something to go on there!?!?

Nowhere in the contract does it promise any sort of particular experience.

Gets you access, and you get access

Would you say our owners are popular taking us the disgruntled part of the support aside? In fact take all our support aside....

I’m not daft enough to think it will get anywhere I am nearly thinking it could be a media worthy story if someone attempted and the points would then get publicity.

Bishops, no, not a chance in hell.

Your ticket / season ticket allows you access to the ground for a game / games. That's what you pay for, and thats what you recieve

A lot of this seems to have happened either through apathy or that a lot of fans didn't really (want to) know the consequences.

The "not knowing" is going to be a big part of any tactic here. Almost guerilla tactics against the owners if you want/need a "Rambo" image of such actions.

It's got t be legal and it's got to be photogenically newsworthy; we risk other fans laughing at us and pointing, but the board will get that too, by association.

As a group of people I believe the fans are strong enough to recover from losing face amongst and to our peers. I'm not so sure about the board - however thick-skinned an image they project.

Re: How much more are we going to take?
I'm totally with One Iron on this. The big fella made it safe for the likes of me to travel anywhere to watch West Ham, so we all owe him some support.

We're all fed up with the club in its current guise - but it's hard to know what we can really do now.

The move to the London Stadium has been a barely mitigated disaster, the performances on the pitch lack quality, passion and organisation and yet another management team look disinterested, passionless and clueless. We've got away fans in our home end at most games, we're miles from the pitch when we're inside that sterile hell-hole of an athletics stadium - and we're all being charged a fortune for it.

We're all biased, of course, but going to West Ham used to be the most amazing match-day experience. I had friends and co-workers who supported other teams who would tell me they were jealous of the atmosphere at Upton Park back in the day.

It has gone.

We still have moments of passion and fleeting glimpses of unity and belonging inside that Stadium. But by and large it is a very different, lesser experience all round.

And there are some people who actively decided to make that the experience we have. They knew what was coming, and ignored all of the warnings - because they don't care as much as us.

Tough to know what to do now, though. We're a mess of a club at the moment.

Come on - keep it real.

Suing the club's owners for taking money under false pretences?!

I like the innovation - but it's a hopeless argument.

Has taking money under false pretences been considered before ? Majority of the lies as we call are documented surely?

listen mate that isn’t as crazy as it sounds. List the things in contention ask hypothetical questions to people in the public domain.

People in the public eye journalists and celebrities for want of a better word. May not be able to answer direct questions but they may answers hypothetical ones.

Southbank.

Agree with all of that. I was in Aus last month and loads of people asked about the stadium. All i could say was its a great arena for many things but it isnt a football ground. Many of them couldnt understand why i was so un-enthused,thinking we should be grateful to be playing in a 'world class arena'. Of all people,a Bradford City fine told a few Aussies that if they had known what we had left then they would totally undrstand why so much of our support is anti LS. It all looked a very good idea in theory but the reality fucking stinks.

Re: How much more are we going to take?
Is taking legal action against GSB an option, even to get a bit of publicity?

I mean they've promised their customers one thing and blatantly delivered something else.

I'm sure there's plenty of lies that can be collected over the promised advantages of the move.

Would it come under taking money under false pretences or something like that.

One for the legal people.
