Hammers United.-New Years message and ACTION.

It has been suggested we put this up as a new thread.-So here goes. Also suggested to pin it so if mods think it worthy please do so.
Thank You.

Good Morning Fellow Hammers,

On what is the last day of yet another year of disappointment for our fanbase.
I sit here today with mixed emotions as I look back on the year.

I am immensely proud of the work my committee and I have put in since the inception of Hammers United in February this year, and the thousands of man hours which has seen our group swell to over seven thousand members.
We have strived over that period to create a group for all Hammers fans, united in their love of our great West Ham.
We are all regular fans, volunteers, with jobs, families and everyday responsibilities like you.
But such was the apathy and frustration of our supporters in the aftermath of the failed protests of 2018, I believed that something had to be done, so in time honoured fashion, I rallied the troops.

The end of a year is often a good time to reflect, and what I have noticed is that some quarters seem to have forgotten the roots of West Ham and its supporters.
This is a club whose supporters survived abject poverty in the Old East End, whose founding father’s built warships on the cutting winds of the Bow Creek Shipyard, who made great personal sacrifice to go on strike to achieve better pay and conditions, leading Arthur Hills to create the sports, social and leisure facilities from which our great club was born.
How disappointed he would be to see the disgraceful displacement of thousands of time served fans of the club, with associations that go back generations, many to those very shipyards, who have paid the ultimate price for the scandalous manner in which the transition from our spiritual home, The Boleyn Ground in Upton Park, a few miles across the Borough to the Olympic Park in Stratford has been handled.
The price of affording the casual arm-chair types and the next generation of fans that David Sullivan has stated he wanted to introduce to football as he strives to grow the fanbase should never have been the heart and soul loyal support of this football club who are throwing it in in their thousands.

It breaks my heart to see it.
Fathers and sons, Mothers and daughters, mates who have sang side by side and travelled the country together. Unable to recognise the club they love and being discarded like old rubbish.
The promises made by those custodians of the club, of next level football and a stadium fitting of a top six club, the ability to attract the very best players and a home which we would all be proud of. . . . A ten point plan laid out to win hearts and minds. . . statements made claiming to understand the responsibilities that come with having to deliver such promises to the fans and working with them.

They remain undelivered.

Our great club is nowhere near the next level.
A club mandated undemocratic construct is positioned as the “Official” supporters board, whilst democratic, independent and affiliated supporters groups who represent thousands of fans are circumvented and ignored. Our custodians and their decisions have once again led us perilously close to a relegation battle as we end the year one place outside the bottom three. The investment made is little more than an illusion once you examine it, and the return on that investment in footballing terms is paltry at best.

This club is a club surviving, not striving for the next level, and this seasons campaign is typical of a survivalist mentality which focuses on the consumerisation of if its fans and how it can squeeze the next pound note out of them, instead of delivering the promises made on which they agreed to leave their spiritual home.
Well as we reach the end of this year, Hammers United, thousands of our members, and many thousands more have had enough.

Let me be clear, we will always support the team, and wish our new manager the best of luck.
But today as the year ends, the time has come for the custodians of our club to be held accountable by its long-suffering supporters.
You will all be aware that we have been inundated with requests to protest and take action against the current custodians of the club and how seriously we take our positions of responsibility.

Accordingly, after much consideration and exploration with our legal advisors, the police and the FSA, and in an effort to avoid any unsavoury repeats of the past, as Chairman of Hammers United, I can confirm that we will be holding a static protest at the home game against Everton on Saturday 18th January.
This is in parallel with our on-going efforts to establish change through dialogue with the club, who we are meeting again shortly.
The full details of the protest will be available in the coming days as we look to mobilise our membership.

I can also confirm that a request to march has been made today and that remains a real option.
We hope this march will see not just our members, but all West Ham supporters, young and old, their families, their fan groups, independent media outlets. . . those who have felt they have had to walk away. . . all of us Hammers. . . United, as we take this opportunity to voice your dissatisfaction against the current custodians of this great club, who have over promised, under delivered and strung on our supporters for too long.

We want no more than what was promised, the next level, and we are duty bound as supporters of this club to hold its custodians accountable.

On behalf of Hammers United, I wish you all a Happy New Year, and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible of the 18th January.

Just seeing if Hammers United are locked down or have planned some form of Guerilla style Internet campaigns with alot of people online nowadays. A GSB OUT website rehashing simple lies and good reporting, to get those thick cunts still alright with them to wake up, or a pukka petition to all football fans against unfit and proper owners able to purchase clubs or sold lies.

Shame there is a lull despite current Covid restrictions.

Mace66 no it fucking wouldn't, it would show that West Ham is more important than a cold and while Scousers are crying at home about their disappearing title and Norwich farmer cunt supporters are walking like mad at staying up, we are out in force making our point even when there's no match.

As there are no decent matches on the telly, this would dominate the sports channels and the news. It's genius and Peckham should be encouraged, not given sage words of caution from fannies so get behind him and I'll see you there for a beer.

Most of the stuff in the museum was owned by terry brown, when he went he took it with him.

Peckham, I think 3-4000 getting together for a jolly would draw the wrong attention in the current climate.

Agree DiCanio

More investigative journalism is needed.

Also where has the old Museum and relics gone that Hammers fans donated to keep open??? Is it just me who thinks our 4-5 major trophies and Moore and legends memorabilia should have been incorporated into a mini museum at the OS. There is the space but no commercial income for Brady to care and half the good shit missing bought by Sullivan or Gold for egos not the fans.

Re: Hammers United.-New Years message and ACTION.
What would draw attention would be 3-4000 brave fit non corona worried hammers united to attend each cancelled game and just release balloons and have a sing along and keep the boats going and re watch Classic games ( having to go back to The Big Match days for them).

There must be some guerrilla style protesting planned even in the absence of games. Loads of bored Hammers and the web to keep signatures up and press coverage.

Paddy Power style online Marketing of GSB Out.

With no games there will be lots of column inches to fill with other football related stories. Its a perfect opportunity for the pressure to ramp up on the back of those abysmal results through the media.

Hammers United are not surprised at the damning results of the 2020 London Stadium survey.
Karen Brady said there were just a few ‘malcontents’who were unhappy. Some of the club’s friends in the press suggested ‘it was just a couple of hundred old men.’But this independent survey confirms the true feelings of the West Ham supporters .
It is also interesting to note that only 23% of those completing the survey were over 55.It is not just ‘the old school’ that are unhappy .

Only 15% believe the stadium move was a good idea.
Only 7% believe the stadium feels like our proper home.
Only 3% feel that West Ham can become a top 6 club in the next 5 years.
Remember the West Ham Board’s own 10 point plan.-’Arguably the most important of all is our commitment to listen to what you have to say.We know we are just the custodians of the club. You who follow us every week, whether near or far,are the true owners.Whether talking to you online or in print,or face to face at fan forums,we will be open ,transparent and available.’......Well GSB the survey resulted in only 5% believing that the club valued them as a supporter and listened to their concerns.
And only 5% believe the Board are doing a good job!!!

Baroness Brady spoke of ‘a magnificent new home’,’the most successful stadium migration in history’and ‘a world class team for a world class stadium.’ Who is she kidding!
She likes to think she is the ‘first lady of football.’
Compare her record to that of Susan Whelan,Chief Executive at Leicester City who has made a point of honouring the club’s traditions and heritage, has brought success and is loved and respected by the supporters.Baroness Brady in contrast has shown little or no respect for our history and traditions, has brought failure on the playing field,a botched and hugely unpopular stadium move and is hated by large sections of the West Ham support.
She should now take the honourable course of action and offer her immediate resignation.
David Sullivan and David Gold have also failed at West Ham.Not only have they failed but their time in charge has seen many thousands of time served West Ham supporters walk away from the club.-The club many have loved and followed for decades following their parents and grandparents before them.
Mr Gold and Mr Sullivan should name their price and actively seek to sell the club as soon as possible. They are killing our club and need to go whilst there is some semblance of West Ham United left for new owners to build on.
Please join us as we strive to make things better for West Ham supporters.

GSB have had a right touch with the games being off, but all it means our next protests will be bigger and better,we will not rest till we have driven them out of our club.

Re: Hammers United.-New Years message and ACTION.

Our Committee has called off the protest before the Wolves game.We managed to keep the details secret but without spectators there is no point in progressing. We will now move on and be prepared for the Chelsea match should it go ahead.

We have been working on plans to put pressure on the club during the close season. We will now endeavour to bring these forward. So many have worked so hard to get us where we are now- we cannot lose impetus and let this slip.

Thank You.

End of Season Protest Boat Party (Villa at home).

Chaz has 2 (maybe 3 ) boats sailing up the Thames. He is going to have one as a specific protest boat.

We will hoist the giant Hammers United flag up.Any other GSB Out flags you bring will also be put up.We will sail up the Thames through central London and under some of the most prominent bridges. We will be seen by thousands of people and we will make sure the press are there.

We will have loud hailers so can have a sing song dedicated to Karen Brady as we pass the House Of Lords. We may make other pertinant comments there or perhaps as we pass under some of the main bridges.

We will also make a point of remembering our history as we pass the site of the Old Thames Ironorks.

We can have a great time-and at the same time take our protest to a wider audience.

The boats have a disco and full bar.The price is £25.

For further details and to book phone Chaz,Bill or Denis.Alternatively pm me and I will sort.

-Cheers.
