Great servant to the club but way past his best now. I think the Captains band should be transferred to Declan on a permanent basis, silly to see Noble come on for the last ten minutes and take the band!
Thanks Mark for all you have done now enjoy watching the team develop.

I always get the feeling Mark didn’t want to be Mr West Ham on his own and would have loved to have been part of a team that had the legends mentioned on here alongside him.

At his best he was only ever just good enough for this league. As time as gone he’s got worse and now ooks like a championship player at best. Good servant whose been well paid for it, the Burnley thing will always wrangle me. legend in service not in quality.

Great servant with some bits of magic over the years. A Premiership player that is our level on the pitch. Too slow to be a higher level than that but loyalty is a virtue in my book and he never hid, sometimes to our detriment.
Should not be starting now.

Noble is way over 500 appearances for West Ham now and has contributed to some of the more memorable moments in recent years. My own personal faves are the volley at Leicester and a last minute penalty winner against Liverpool at Upton Park. Unfortunately his legs clearly aren't up to 90 minutes now but I would still bring him on latter stages to help close out games.

I think West Ham’s record over the last 20 years mirrors Noble as a player. Just about Prem standard by the skin of our teeth for much of that time, and as he’s ageing he’s bound to be not good enough

One of our better players not a great one but deserve a good send off with a full ground applauding him.

Agreed, although I don't know many multi-millionaire servants.

Cartis.
I was referring to his length of service. I'm a fan of Noble but in my eyes,he will never achieve the playing heights and iconic staus reached by Bonds and Brooking.

Adequate player, but most certainly limited and the fact we didn't replace him for effectively 10 years is one of the reasons we barely progressed in that time.

Light years away from those two for me . If he wasn't a local lad and West Ham fan he would perceived very differently. Decent servant yes ,club legend not for me.

Nolan was a good player and quite similar to Noble, but I think scored more goals. However, I never really thought of Nolan as a West Ham man, he was BFS man. BFS was a cunt, got us playing crap cunty football and even laughed at our great club and traditions. Rightly or wrongly that all made Nolan a bit of a cunt as well.

Exile.
I take your point. Just saying that i hope the fan base dont forget what he has contributed over the years because thevinevitable has caught up. Hopefully, him and the manager can have an honest conversation regarding his future role and act accordingly.

Our manager chose to play the equivalent of Hourihane instead of Grealish. So dumb.

only 1 - that's all very well up to a point, but but trying to do a job that's different to the one the manager gave him is nothing to do with succumbing to age.

Only someone of limited mental capacity would turn on him now if he fails to perform. He is the nearest thing by a country mile to Bonds,Brooking et al as long serving club legends.
He should be thanked for his service, not chastised for succumbing to age. .

I don't see why any of this should tarnish the image or legacy of Noble. The difference with Nolan was that he had very little history with the club.

Lanzini does play that position better as that is his role.
