That U21 Ireland international would be useful as a midfield option. What’s his name ?.... Conor Coventry ? Doh !!!

Ross McCormack is on a free as is Wilfred bony, Ben Arfa , Bradley Wright Phillips , Matt Jarvis, Anton Ferdinand, Elliot Ward, Jordan Spence , Roger Johnson,

Obviously this list sits high in Sullivan’s in-tray

there were other buyers interested when they took over the club. what annoys you so much about people being unhappy with the way the club's being run? do you think it's been a good decade under their leadership?

I keep hearing the complaints about the owners but the reality is there is nobody interested in our club. If they do sell then who are they selling to? Football is bust and the bubble will burst pretty soon.
There aren't loads of multi-billionaires desperate for a club which doesn't even have a ground.
Absolutely no chance of anyone buying it at the current valuation.

Maybe some do but I’ve not heard of interest being charged.
Whatever happens this season people have to accept nothing positive is happening at our football club until these leeches are sent packing.
Nothing

Greed mate and as far as I know other owners who loan money to thier clubs don't charge interest but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

How about the owners agree to relinquish every penny of interest they have drained out of the club in a decade and then convert the net amount they are still owed into shares.
For the good of the club

That a good assessment of the current state of our squad.Yes we need to invest but look at the at the accounts.Despite being the 7th richest club in the premiership their doesen't seem to be a lot of spare cash.

Take Everton for example they have spent £500m+ in the last 4 seasons albeit they recouped a tidy sum in player sales unlike us. Never the less this level of spend does seem to be high as their revenue of £187m is very similar to ours £190m. In addition Evertons owner has loaned the club £ 250m, interest free by the way. They lost over £100 m last year against our loss of I believe £30m.despit their situation they are still willing to make funds available to Ancheloti.
The 6 teams above us in the money league all have bigger debts than us bar Arsenal and City who are still under investigation for breach of FFP.
So what is the way forward soft debt as its known when borrowed from the owners as ther is little scope to increase our revenue under the current arrangements at the London Stadium.

Sir Alf I make you bang on... this season has had the feel of relegation all over it since mid November and there’s absolutely nothing to suggest that the squad is strong or deep enough to turn it around. What we would now give for an Obiang or Kouyate coming off the bench , a Lucas Perez ( 8 goals , 3 assists this season ) even a Chicarito to come on with 15 minutes left to nick a goal. The thinning of the squad pre season now looks like a disaster and like they did with Pellegrinis sacking they’ve dithered while Rome continued to burn. The fans who support the club through thick and thin in massive numbers don’t deserve what’s coming but unfortunately these absolutely useless owners do. We are now counting on 3 teams being worse than we are for what’s left of this season and when Sullivan was allegedly valuing the club at £600m as recently as 14th November the gamble that they’re taking by not investing when we are in deep shit is almost incredible....

Re: January Transfer rumours & discussion thread
We are getting no one lads. I will be shocked if we get anyone and if we do it will be a token transfer of some ageing has been to try and pretend we did some business.

S, G and B will take us down again. It has that feel this season. I will not blame Mpyes. He needed a job and was proabbly the only one prepared to take this one.

The reality is that to get what we need. Another central midfielder with pace, an engine, but good technically that is available means a loan from a top team who have someone that is proven or upcoming but is simplpy kept out of the first team because they have such a strong squad. That player might not even exist but if he did the purchasing club ( loan or fee ) would have to pay through the nose. Its not in Sullivan's DNA, EVen though its a short term expense to mitigate the much larger cost of relegation, he simply would not do it. He cannot look beyond the end of his pug nose.

Sajmo trouble with Sangare is that unless Salthouse or Mackay are his agents our transfer commander in chief will not know of his existence, let alone abilities or potential availability

AC Milan are reportedly after Matty Cash as Forrest.

Even big clubs in europe now are scouting the lower leagues for English talent as they know how much their value can increase.

West Ham United keen on Lyon striker Bertrand Traore

According to Foot Mercato, West Ham United have contacted the representatives of Lyon striker Bertrand Traore over a move this month.

Bournemouth and Leicester City are also interested in the former Chelsea forward, and it remains to be seen if the Ligue 1 outfit will let him leave in the coming days.

Lyon value Traore around £35 million, and West Ham will have to part with something to have a chance of getting their man.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to boost his attacking ranks this month with the club in a fight to beat the drop, and while he hasn’t been particularly in impressive form for Lyon this term, the Burkina Faso international could come do a fine job as he has unfinished business in the Premier League.

After scoring 29 goals in 90 games during his first two seasons with the French side, the 24-year-old has just three goals and three assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for Lyon this term, and West Ham might not be keen to splash £35 million on his signature.

The Hammers spent a club-record £45 million to land French striker Sebastian Haller last summer, and will be cautious about spending big just after six months.

Traore could leave Lyon, though, with the arrival of Karl Toko Ekambi from Villarreal set to increase the competition for playing opportunities, and it will be interesting to see where he moves to with a return to England seemingly on the cards.

Bertrand Traore

We've only gone and got a link to a forward with pace. Wanted him around the same time we shelled out for Yarmolenko.

Totally credible source as always.
