WHO Poll
Q: 2021/22 What competition should we prioritise this season?
a. The league is our bread & butter, so this year let's have a club sandwich
b. We're owed an FA Cup after Gerrard nicked our last one in 06, our name's on it in 22
c. A bye to the League Cup 3rd round gives us a good start, let's make it count
d. The Europa is our best ticket to the Champions League, this is the one
e. What's wrong with you, let's do the lot, has the quadruple ever been done

Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

Wiltell has been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless he has anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread.
This thread is sacrosant.Thank you

Re: Anxiety/depression
I will bring some meaning to the last paragraph below

Our generation was brought up with the "Just get on with it attitude ". Since the late 80s, we have had the consumerist rat race going on where so get themselves into mortgages and new cars with the added pressure of dept. So we are not sure how to cope with it so some take their own lives, Whereas the younger generation knows nothing else but this pressure and the meds and therapy that go with it which is not stigmatised as it was when our generation were kids

Re: Anxiety/depression
I am accustomed to upping or cutting down med dosages giving lousy side effects. I went from 50mg to 100mg of Sertraline on Friday last week and yesterday I had the shittest feeling day in a long time and could not of bed to an interview which I did it today instead. My shit day was started by a vivid dream about a MATE who gassed himself in his old man's motor on his 19th birthday 4/11/85 and that reminded me of another MATE overdosing on heroin at the same sort of age

I watched something on Iplayer about professor Green old man who liked himself. A proper professor of psychology said that in the 90s the average age of male suicide in men in their 20s and 30s and now its 40s and 50s. because we are the generation that is between the older generation who would not speak about mental health and the younger generation who do speak about it freely. My old man boxed for the army and fought in Malaysia's "Emergency". He had PTSD for sure but he was more violent than depressed not to his family just to anyone who the thought had crossed him. My daughter 30 (No link ) has no issue going to counselling

Re: Anxiety/depression
Thanks67 mate,

All our own personal issues are as significant o us as anyone else's is to you. Walk you own path and try channel your sadness to fight n rage n hate towards any issues / illness or struggles you have. its like running up a big mountain.yes it will hurt like like hell but when you get there its the greatest achievement to feel reborn and invincible.

Send square, face you issues head on, and tell it to fucking come on then and fight whoever you can

Its weirdly enough not about winning, its about competing and honouring yourself along the way that counts.

I got gutting news yesterday but it just joins the pile of it and I get up and go as best I can today, and hopefully the a little nice things (like my missus driving an hour to the hospital so I can meet with her in the carpark for half an hour. That's special and worth living for.
Allow yourself to find the happy parts in your day today and drop your macho/tough guy side and embrace and enjoy the purity in them and hold them tight.

Life is special and wonderful, hold onto it, its not a competition, its a celebration

Sorry for waffling on.

Happy Saturday all.
Irons x

Nice one Ted. I think we all have a spring in our step today.
I'm at my 3.5 Yr old soft play place proudly wearing my 1980 FA Cup Final tracksuit top thinking how long ago Xmas now feels.

Re: Anxiety/depression
Feeling elated after last nights result still buzzing especially seeing Tony Cottee leading the "West ham Are Massive"
I'm also feeling better in myself and think my body has now accepted the cut of 50gr Fentanyl down to 25mg on this for 1 to 2 months then go down to 12.5 mg.

Wishing you all well.

Reading some of the stuff on here makes me want to laugh and cry!

Some people are beyond help, irrespective of what you do, they are destined to fail.

That’s reality, people are wired differently!

Re: Anxiety/depression
Hi Mace,
I was on 75mg and cut to 50mg this time 50mg to 25mg so yes you're right a big jump...Just been talking to my surgery and my GP recommends I stay on 25mg for 1 or 2 months and then 12.5mg....He has also prescribed Diazepam for when I taper back.

Thanks again for the season tickets you managed to get us back in 2008 I believe ;-)

Re: Anxiety/depression
Ag @ Troy

Ted, presumably they're 25 increments and can't be cut up like a tab can. No surprise 50 to 25 is tougher as it's 50% drop compared to 33% 75 to 50.

So you'd expect it to be tougher .. stick with it, you'll get there

Re: Anxiety/depression
What a shit weekend not only Brentford doing the double over us but I came down from 50gr Fentanyl patches to 25gr still feel rough now but seem to be getting over the swap... 75gr to 50gr was a lot easier.

Re: Anxiety/depression
Yeah not a good time to change!
My sleeping went fucked, libido disappeared and my ego went through the roof or I felt very anxious. Nothing In between. After 5 years I stopped and it took about 6 months to balance it. I've avoided all anti depressants since but obviously was a mistake due to my countless fuck ups but I'm finding therapy now very helpful and still not on meds.

Cheers Pentonville

Funny u should say that.. while I’m transferring over from Mirtazapine my sleeping has gone to shit and the wife reckons I’m very irritable

I told her what do you expect … the referee was a fucking wanker!
