This coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 1st June
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

You're a fucking dildo.

You're not even arguing with my original point (in-country work for residents) point but making one up yourself (global trading), attributing it to me then trying to argue your case.

The UK was well fucking shot of you if that is your level of debating skills.

If you need me to spell out your error, I'll need to see if it's possible to fully do so in words of one syllable so that even you cannot fail to understand.

Admittedly you spout so much crap that remembering any single post would be a challenge for a person who had all their marbles.

Like fuck will I go back and find that - but you listed Australia and the Middle East as successful examples of how being anti globalist had worked - and I pointed out that both have thrived from selling raw materials to a global market.

Memory going is it?

Where have a said anywhere that the middle east is being "Anti Global"?

What is YOUR experience in the area as to what the region's particular attitude is in that respect?

Don't blame me for the fact that you are either too thick of lack the self-awareness to work out what is being said mike's sore little cock.

Re: This coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 1st June
I mean it completely explains why you were trying to portray the middle east as successfully being anti global while being a foreign worker benefiting from the globalization of the middle east.

Are you going to be more specific that "this stuff" within or without the context of the discussion, Capital (I-Can-Now-See-Why-They-Call-You-Mong) Man, or do you plan to leave it "as is" to enable you a slippery get-out later?

Try with identifying the "problem" you see me as part of, if you need a little first grade help here.

And you are of course free to hold and express whatever view you like - just as I'm free to point out the hypocrisy in those views.

Seems pretty clear to me anyway.

You've created a differentiator for yourself as "skilled" that differentiates you from others - in your mind anyway.

Capitol Man 6:25 Fri Jul 10
Re: This coronavirus in China - PL suspended until 1st June
Because you are constantly whining about this stuff yet you are a part of the "problem" -as you see it anyway.

Personally I don't see it as an issue. Living and working abroad is one of the benefits of globalization. I have certainly benefit.

I just don't advocate one rule for me and one rule for everyone else.

Why do I need any sort of excuse? And for what?

The country's government offered me some money to do a job for them and I accepted.

Do they need to run stuff past you for approval now?

So you have a raft of excuses for the hypocrisy?

Insofar as I was identified as the man for the job at Christmas 2014 and they then spent all of 2015 and a quarter of 2016 trying to find my equal and failing would suggest bringing a foreigner in was the only option they had.

I will be handing all my activities over to locals once they have been identified, so, yes, fully in line with the governments Omanization (not globalization) plan.

You post in the style of someone who has difficulty contemplating the future. Don't think too long about it though - it will stress you out.

I like al Khuwair. I used to stay at the Asmara. More British people should go to Oman if they’re looking for a bit of a desert/off road adventure. The government has always been close to Britain and the people are very friendly, unlike a lot of Middle Eastern countries.

I used to chat to BubblesCyprus who loved the place and used to stay in Ruwi. I wonder what happened to him.

That globalization in the form of bringing in foreigners like you has been essential for the country?

I'm in Al Khuwair - midway between the beach and the mountains.

Oman is on a long term "Omanization" quest to get more of it's local population into jobs.

The rate at which expats are leaving suggests that will happen for a lot far sooner than previously anticipated - although not in the (managerial) roles many were expecting.

The UK could learn a lesson from it's long-time ally here.

“I suspect a lot of the problem is that outside the view of the authorities (who are, for the want of a better word, very authoritarian), people are still very gregarious and the interpretation of a "household" is very fluid.”

True. Talk to an Omani for five minutes and they’ll invite you to a beach party with their twenty cousins. Where do you live? Qurum or something?

Yeah - they're normally pretty quick on the screening immigrants, but that was mostly focussed on TB as they have a lot of immigration from the Indian sub-continent. In fact, early on most of the cases were expats from there (who have been leaving in droves on dozens of special flights over the past few weeks - and still are).

This week it was announced that the split was 50/50 expats/locals.

I suspect a lot of the problem is that outside the view of the authorities (who are, for the want of a better word, very authoritarian), people are still very gregarious and the interpretation of a "household" is very fluid.

The ROP/Army locked down inter-county district travel very firmly (which basically fucked up everything my client does), but that just resulted in a surge in local infections.

They go into mad panic mode once a case is detected but prevention? Nah, nobody seems to be able to grasp that concept - looks far better to solve a problem than prevent one happening in this part of the world.

Then, of course, a load of people around the region believe someone called Al will protect and save them. That doesn't tend to make things any easier in controlling this - but we're not allowed to talk about that.

No thanks Vexed.

I'd rather walk 10 miles than wear one - if others want to fall in line with the latest ravings of the BBC morning news team and Nicola Sturgeon that's up to them, personally I preferred it when people had a bit more about them.
