This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

If you think opening gyms will help fat lazy cunts to get fit, then you lack common sense yourself.

Bozza to spend £100 million (of YOUR money) to fight obesity.

Here's a cheaper option:

Open the fucking gyms

Bonus is that it'll bring thousands of jobs back.

But no, common sense always comes second to the magic money tree

And that's not really a major problem. Most are just getting on with things without the big events. I'm sure pretty much everyone has bent the rules here or there and it's hardly as though they are hanging people in the street is it.

I think a significant majority have quietly been "doing their own thing", not drawing attention to what they are doing.

It's only when the terminally stupid and/or the "Look at my BIG BOLLOCKS, I'm giving the law the finger, me!" brigade try the same thing that it hits the press.

So.... imagine if 40% of school kids and god forbid University Students have had their jab and had met up with their mates to have a game of knock down Ginger (in the case of the school kids) or met up to discuss their thoughts on Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn & smoke a few doobies (in the case of the Students)... OOOOOH the public OUTCRY...

Fucking crusty's doing what they want...

“Sometimes the most public spirited thing that you can do with despotic laws like these is to ignore them. I think that if the government persists long enough with locking people down, depending on the severity of the lockdown, civil disobedience is likely to be the result. It will be discrete civil disobedience in the classic English way — I don’t think that we are likely to go onto the streets waving banners. I think we will just calmly decide that we are not going to pay any attention to this”

Bolty

If they are testing 700k a day in the general community (when the prevalence is low - as it is), the results can be misleading at this level.

The LFT has a false positive rate of 0.32%

The PCR has a false positive rate of between 0.8 and 4.0%

This could provide false positives per day anywhere between 2,240 and 28,000. The number of positive cases per days is averaging about 6k, which is well within the margin of error.

There's concern that the rates of infection etc are not dropping as quick as we've seen in the past week or so...

More scaremongering from the media, this time LBC.

151 148 vaccinations in Poland in the last 24 hours, which is actually normal. The number I gave before seems to have been a weekend thing.

Re: This coronavirus in China
So by when Rios? 15th April is the target for 9 which cover 99% of deaths (i believe). So presumably 21 days after that? Or do we wait until they all have their 2nd dose to enable full protection?

The economy should be opened up fully today, continued support should be given to those who have to shield, a % should be set for herd immunity made up of those who have had a positive test result and those who have had the vaccine (1 dose - the results are "stunning")

And then, as you have described the disease is "very nasty" - are you suggesting that it is allowed to rip through the rest of the country with no mitigations?

How can it "rip through" when well over a third of the population have been vaccinated with the "stunning vaccine" and another 5-10m (possibly more) have had positive test results or had the virus without a test result?

Do you not believe that there is a correlation between infection levels and risks of future variants?

Not sure why you ask me to "believe", can you provide any irrefutable evidence of this? If so, then of course I would agree.

Anyway, if you believe that public health policies define the efficacy of a vaccine which has been proven to be extremely high, then good for you.

Statistics define the efficacy of a vaccine following extensive trials - public health policies do many things, some good, some bad, they do not define efficacy.

Luckily take up seems to be good, so freeloading vaccine twitchers can carry on regardless

So open up the economy and lets get the country back to work
