This coronavirus in China
anyone else worried? 9 dead so far.

CNY soon so the virus will spread very quickly if they cannot control it. It'll be in Europe by the end of CNY if not earlier.

is this the end of humanity?

UK media are back in full-on panic/clickbait mode led by our useless politicians. Meanwhile in the real world people just get on with life

Re: This coronavirus in China
In Britain, arrivals from six countries were added to the quarantine red list from noon - but fears were raised over a lack of checks on arrivals beforehand. However, Angelique Coetzee, the chairwoman of the South African Medical Association, said that it was too early to begin imposing travel restrictions. 'It's a hasty decision,' she told the BBC. 'I would understand if it was two weeks later and we knew much more about this viral infection that is going around, this mutation. But for now, it is a storm in a tea cup, we have only become aware of this viral mutation ... in the last week. So far what we have seen are very mild cases, so I'm not sure why we are all up in arms.'

I'll tell you why... because everyone loves a panic up... the MP's... the so called experts... the press... everyone... no one knows absolute zilch about this apart from there are NO MASSIVE hospitalisations or people falling ill... but don't let that fact stop every jack running around like a headless chicken... not me... I'm going down the Pub...

Re: This coronavirus in China
Its easy to test positive twice

Anyway

A council in Australia appears set to effectively ban cats from being outdoors unless they are on a lead.

Planned changes to laws in Freemantle, Western Australia, would see felines prohibited from all council owned areas, including roads, verges and bushlands.

Members of the council voted to approve proposals tabled by Councillor Adin Lang, on the basis it would protect wildlife and remove the risk of cats being hit by cars.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Does anyone actually know anyone who's had the virus twice?

Turns out the person I knew was never tested the first time he thought he had it, so I'm a little sceptical he had it the first time.

When I had it, it most likely would have been the delta variant, so just wonder what It means with this new one.

Re: This coronavirus in China
I got this earlier

8 out of 10 patients ill in hospital with Covid aren't fully vaccinated. Anyone 12 years or over can book a first dose. If you are eligible, book your second dose or booster jabs online https://bit.ly/30S0Fwq or view walk-in clinics: https://mygp.me/35T4XD2

So as said now counting the not fully vaccinated.. I take it anyone who hasn't had a third.. Load of bullshit..

As the OP suggests, it might actually be the end of humanity.

Like most people, I thought it'd last 6 weeks.

Mim, point us to where you got the information leading you to write “super duper scary variant that’s apparently totally resistant to all jabs anyway” please.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Weren't the vaccines were "developed" for the Alpha variant and then the Delta kicked in so vaccines aren't as effective? Odd thing is we were told back then it was apparently easy to tinker with the vaccines but they obviously haven't done so or it isn't that easy! It was also mentioned early on that when viruses mutate they may get more virulent but generally less deadly. If the scientists are confused what hope the rest of us and obviously the constant moving the goal posts promotes questions!

Re: This coronavirus in China
So while France declares that those with only 2 jabs are gonna officially be "unvaccinated", along comes this super duper scary variant that's apparently totally resistant to all jabs anyway.

Remember when I and others said that the jabs aren't "the way out of this" like you were promised and you all said that was a crazy conspiracy theory?

Honestly, if you can't see through all this bollocks by now then you never will.

What Bryan Adams doing testing himself within 90 days of testing positive originally?

The NHS track and trace team told me not to bother, and not get tested for 90 days.

Cheers Sold0. I now have EVERYTHING I DO, I DO IT FOR YOU stuck in my head now.

Re: This coronavirus in China
Actually I'm more concerned in the news that apparently Bryan Adams has caught the lurgi twice in a month... how unlucky is he... probably payback from his single that stayed at number one for 6 months or whatever it was... the pile of shit
