Disturbing Report – Saudi’s May Give Up On Newcastle – Will Target West Ham

Written by Dr. Ed Harrison

Football Insider are reporting in an exclusive that the Saudi consortium are having second thoughts about buying Newcastle United and that’s probably because they are finding out that Mike Ashley is an unwilling and difficult seller.

So the report is they may switch their attention to West Ham, who are located in London, a more attractive location and have a massive stadium, and the fans there are loyal.

If this is all true, then it looks like Mike Ashley doesn’t want to sell the club, and to miss out on a Saudi takeover and £200M investment into the club is just absolutely devastating.

It also shows just how selfish and obstinate Mike Ashley is.

If the news is accurate, the consortium also met Ashley’s asking price of £340M to buy the club.

The consortium, led by Amanda Staveley, has been unable to make a deal with Mike Ashley, and it looks like they will now move on.

The West Ham Co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold are nearly as unpopular as Mike Ashley, so the Hammers fans will be hoping the takeover happens.

This is one more takeover situation where Newcastle fans hopes have been raised – although the fans are now very wary of any takeover – and it seems that Mike Ashley is determined to hold onto the club.

Ashley managed to sicken Rafa Benitez after 40 months at the club, so he moved on.

And now he has turned away one of the world’s richest men who was willing to invest heavily in the club,

And by continuing to be the owner, he guarantees that Newcastle will be a mediocre club fighting to stay in the Premier League.

Just like we have done over the last 13 years since he bought us way back in 2007.

If this news is accurate – it’s tragic.

Sadly I think its all wishful thinking.

We are stuck with these clowns and the legacy of their "deracinate" model for some time ( deracinate courtesy of Oliver Holt but sums it up).

Re: Takeover rumours resurface
Im sure almost every one would be more than happy if we were to be bought out and be rid of these owners
.Owning the stadium should be a priority although City still dont own theirs, but us owning the stadium would provide opportunity to maximize potential revenue such as branding ,sponsorship, catering and dare I say it, provided we are in the top flight increased season ticket prices in line with our richer London neighbours
As for rebuilding a stadium that sells out almost every game. like some people on here have said previously would it make economic sense.

AS has been said before, the club are more than happy for these rumours to circulate; anything, in fact, to get the fans to SHUT THE FUCK UP and accept what you're offered.

Even a cursory look at the above summary shows our "worth" is majorly dependent on current broadcast income and player assets (which are declining rapiidly due to age/underperformance). Both would be decimated by relegation.

GSB are fucking mental. If - big IF - the stadium is bought and converted, and we're a major PL force, the club may come close to their own dreams of value. Until then? Forget it.

Re: Takeover rumours resurface
Well, IF IF IF we stay up

Rice, Diop, Anderson, Haller, Fornals, Lanzini, Antinio are £200m of assets right there anyhow.

Plus you get the TV money $140m per season.

We are worth £340m without even doing anything. Think probably £600m is about right.

£800,000,000? We haven't even got a home! Basically buying a name and some sheds in Essex.

According to Brand Brady's website, we're valued even more than has been mentioned.

"Karren is CEO of West Ham United Football Club, one of the leading London Premier League football clubs and currently valued at £800,000,000. She has also previously been a key consultant for Syco Entertainment, a company jointly owned by Simon Cowell and Sony Music Entertainment."

8,000,000,000!

Re: Takeover rumours resurface
Beef ham and turkey ham both widely available in the Middle East/Muslim states.

Not the "Ham" that westerners grew up to love and regard as the one and only ham, but then the west is not the whole world.

Not that I'm endorsing a Saudi take-over; they're another Icelandic bank case just waiting to happen.
