Ha. An Englishman, a recently repatriated Englishman and an Irishman have forgotten what sarcasm is?

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
Exeter have a good night mate. Need to go.

I came on because I cared about the title. I saw something I disagreed with and why I explained why people disagreed with me.

I respect everyone's opinion, I just don't respect the weaselly practice of pretending someone said something they did not and "winning" the argument against that (You strayed into that territory with the Roma-Lazio derby thing. You know I never said that)

Anyway, no worries. Things get said, but I would rather we are shouting together at the opposition or ref.

Won't have as much time on the weekend or next week, but I will respond again when I can. If people want.

Mate, if they are the master manipulators you say they are and play every member of a huge fan base into doing exactly what they planned, you think they would let anything slip in an interview. Maybe the interview are part of the plan.

Come on. You can't have it both ways.

You are better than jumping to silly exaggerations mate.

It is not easy, its not quick (to go to - your - ankle example, have you ever rehabbed from a serious injury. I have, not a lot fun and not quick ) but I think West Ham is worth it.

The way not to start is coming on board and saying "We will never a home advantage."

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
You have no idea what goes on in their heads?

Maybe try reading some of their interviews stretching back over the last 30(?) years to discover the absolute contempt that they hold a football clubs traditional fanbase in?

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
You're right, if everybody acted like you at home games, we'd be witnessing the same kind of atmosphere as a heated Roma vs Lazio derby.

this kind of thing was mentioned Christ knows how many years ago now, what could possibly have prevented it?

Of course they can try. I have no idea what really goes on in their heads and they can succeed with some.

So you saying we should let them do it? Let them destroy any home advantage we have by throwing up our hands and say " We will never have any?"

I just don't get this mentality.

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
*...it is like saying "I broke my ankle, I am never going to run again" and sit down forever. That would exactly be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
You don't think the owners have 'the smarts' to manipulate the fanbase?

Really? Where have you been?

You do realise they have been throwing lengthy and lifetime bans around like confetti long before they even took over West Ham right?

You do realise that even 20 odd years ago Brady was banging on about how she would change the fanbase at Birmingham City, so it doesn't take too much to envisage what would be on her mind when the LS fell into their laps.

Unfortunately they CAN and DO manipulate fans, they also ban them completely.

This is their doing and they have got exactly what they set out to do. Things will improve when they completely fuck off.

You have absoultely demonstrated my point.

"It's a bit like somebody breaking your ankle and then when you state you can't run, somebody telling you 'that's just your self fulfilling prophecy'"

No mate its like say I broke my ankle, I am never going run again and sit down forever. It would exactly be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

We can't run yet, we might not ever be able to run at this place, but we will survive and still go on with life, with the crutches and then walking at least which is better than nothing.

Right?

I have an opinion and passive-aggressively talking to another poster is not going to change that. Nor it is going to change me being on the board and being West Ham. Right?

If you had the guts you would address me what I actually said instead of making up numbers in your head. For some weird reason.

If you are done talking to me, be done, move on. Don't make it like some teenage girl gossip session.

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
No.

The reality is that if you go to the efforts required to recreate the atmosphere of what the Boleyn was like years back, you would be likely to get a lengthy ban.

That is the reality.

It's a bit like somebody breaking your ankle and then when you state you can't run, somebody telling you 'that's just your self fulfilling prophecy'

You can disagree as much as you want, the fact of the matter is the atmosphere has worsened and that is because of the conditions laid down by the despicable scum that currently own the club.

Just give up, Ex. The fella is an expert on absolutely everything, and cannot accept not having the last word.

Ignore your years of going, and knowledge you have picked up. None of it means anything when dealing with a Canadian who's been about 20 English games in his life.

WHU(Exeter) 12:20 Sat Feb 29

Remember what we are talking about, - never having any home advantage.

Sorry I don't think Brady or the Daves have the smarts to manipulate that situation if they tried, if the fans wanted to prove them wrong.

Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
WHU(Exeter) 12:20 Sat Feb 29

I disagree.

I don't, from the offset physiologically give others that much power over me.

There are things fans can do, even with the structures that have thrown down, that can make things better than no home advantage. And when you give up, by saying there can never be any, you are fulfilling your own prophecy.

That is reality.

I guess that name to means we need some kind of atmosphere, in any way we possibly legally can.

Sorry to use a North Americanism but it what expresses what I think, there are garbage people with power in life. I don't give up on family because they can be garbage people, I still care about politics because of how important it despite lots of garbage people there.

The no home advantage thing is giving up on a critical part of West Ham.

WHU(Exeter) 12:20 Sat Feb 29
Re: WHUISA re: bowl reconfiguration
It is not self prophecy as you keep insisting.

It is because the conditions they have set up were absolutely nailed on to end as they have done from day one.

They do not understand the dynamics of what creates an atmosphere at a game, they do not understand the partisan nature of it....if they could fill the ground with 20,000 away fans mingled throughout the place they would do, as long as they were guaranteed the ticket sales.

You do not have to be a fan of this club to have known that, plenty of neutrals, decent writers, people who've followed the game for decades were saying how this was going to pan out...your 'self fulfilling prophecy' stuff just doesn't hold water.

neo-liberalism has no place in football...sadly we're stuck with it

Non-League is loads more fun these days
