Gordon Cowans Alzheimers diagnosed
Aged 61. I don't think that this can be due to heading the ball, because from memory he hardly headed it. He was one of those players who was a pleasure to watch: frail looking but at times running the show for Villa, tackling hard, able to use both feet, and imaginative.

My next door neighbour has it and her husband has to introduce me to her every time I see her although I have been living next door for 4 years. He laughs at some of the nonsense she comes out with as what else can you do?

Small, slight midfielder, Phil Parkes probably headed the fucking ball more than him

I read the thread title earlier today and thought didn't he play for villa?, then read the rest and was pleasantly surprised that I remembered correctly.
I think I too am in danger of the Simers , I never headed many balls though .

Re: Gordon Cowans Alzheimers diagnosed
I'm still heading the ball, the grand old age of 62. This may be because I already have Alzheimer's and I keep forgetting what it could do to me if I didn't, but I don't think so.

Or maybe I think a goal's worth it.

Or maybe I'm just so young at heart that I still think I'm immortal.

He's from the North-East isn't he.

Are they sure he doesn't just sound dazed, confused and forgetful.

It's an easy mistake to make

Ted, people with sufferers in their family often make a joke about it along the lines of what ERN said.

Its obviously an awful, awful thing to deal with, but that doesn't mean you should lose all sense of humour. A bit of gallows can lighten the mood.

That's a shame. Great player.

Used to imagine him in OUR c&b as a kid. (Me. as a kid. Not him. Oh, you know what I mean...)

61. FOMB.
