What's the point of having wealth and power in Hollywood if you can't use the casting couch?

Woody Allen has never been charged or had anything proven.
His ex wife has coached some kids to lie is all that is ‘known’.
Polanski is guilty and has been hiding in Pickles basement for 30 years

given the industry still allows known pedo's like woody allen and roman polanski to thrive, id say this is a mere blip , soon forgotten

The dirty old hog filled his boots for years and now he has to pay for the deeds - time to put on the old boilersuit

If you were a producer you might do that but you’d likely have an assistant or someone else there too.
And not be in a bathrobe with your cock out

Heard something on the radio where they said he expressed sympathy for the women .... and also to men who are having to deal with this ‘change of culture’
Ha ha
That went down really well with the victims.
Classic RAPEY Harvey

It's quite normal both in the UK and the US to hold castings/meetings in hotel suites.

Serves Weinstein right. Now he’s banged to rights let’s hope that the sentence he serves will also be a sufficient deterrent to others in power.

Re: Weinstein - goes down, for 23 years
Weinstein no doubt acted improperly, and used his power and influence to get his leg over on many occasions. The trial process however in the U.S. is so alien to what is allowed by UK courts (lawyers spouting off in TV interviews, alleged victims broadcasting unchallenged what he did to them even though they were not giving evidence in court, demonstrations outside the courthouse by the MeToo movement, jury vetting, the opportunity for jurors to make money after the trial), not to mention the huge influence of social media, etc) that I doubt that a fair trial was possible.

Re: Weinstein - goes down, for 23 years
Ignoring the fact he's straight back to defending his favourite rapist and his mates AGAIN (par for the course) there's something quite dark about Pickleds stalking of me.

I don't think I've ever made a single post here in the last few years and he's not jumped on it within minutes. It could be any time of day or night. I've posted on here when in airports at 3am UK time and he's almost instantly been there. Its like he's on here literally 24/7. Cunt literally has no life outside following people round on here.

Guaranteed at his funeral his wife and 2 kids will have genuine conversations about why he spent so much time staring at a screen anxious for the attention of strangers instead of giving it to them. Then a week or so later they'll probably have forgotten the "man" of their family ever existed.

Agree with Vexed, yes he was a dirty old cunt, but he was always going to be found guilty before the trial even started, Social Media had seen to that.

Has Hollywood "come together" for sex offenders now mimmler?

Or maybe it hasn't and you have some kind of weird obsession with the Roman Polanski case of statutory rape (ticks all the boxes from bum sex with a minor to antisemitism and class resentment) all those years ago?

Re: Weinstein - goes down, for 23 years
People have responsibilities in keeping themselves safe and not letting dreams override personal welfare. The delays are also troubling.

That all said, people in power using that power for sex is something way too common and needs to be punished.

We have people who defend Polanski on here still.

Hollywood is an absolute cesspit. Remember them all coming together for Polanski at various stages over the years.

Re: Weinstein - goes down, for 23 years
The ‘casting couch’ has been a cliche since Hollywood began (and before).
Will be interesting to see who else gets the same treatment as obviously he isn’t / wasn’t the only one behaving like this.
Would also be interesting to hear from any other actress who got a lead role in a Miramax film over the years and is prepared to say ...’ I knew the score and it helped me get a major job that gave me a career and millions. Thanks Harvey.’

Re: Weinstein - goes down, for 23 years
Much as he seems to be a noncey old cunt, I find it hard to believe he could ever have had a fair trial bearing in mind what a media circus it's all been.

Also it goes to show that you can be given 23 years basically off the back of a twitter 'campaign' which I find a little bit unpalatable.

What did these failed actresses think was going to happen when you have a meeting in a blokes hotel room at some ridiculous hour anyway? Why did they all sit on it (hur hur) for so long before deciding to be so heroic? Could have saved a few birds a noncing.

It's all pretty reprehensible from whatever angle you look at it.
